What do you have a low tolerance for?
What do you have a low tolerance for?
What do you have a low tolerance for?
Inconsideration. Drives me absolutely crazy.
Stupid things like being at work, someone uses the last of something and just leaves the empty box and tells no one that we're out. To me that says "fuck you, someone else can clean this. I got what I need, the person who needs it next can say we need more."
Try to get a quick lunch, sit down to eat, asshole in corner listening to tiktok at full volume, imagine murdering this pos through the entire meal.
His name is Lou and he drives me insane...
The full volume is annoying enough, but shit like tiktok is like listening to someone change the channel every 5 seconds... And at full volume...
Littering, especially cigarette butts. Nothing sends me into a blind rage faster than seeing someone flick a cigarette butt out their car window. Not littering is SO easy, the bar is on the floor, and yet so many people just don’t care at all.
I always have to look out for shards of broken glass in the bicycle gutter lane because I guess some people think it's fine to just throw glass bottles on the ground
Intolerance.
For me it's this, and the Dutch.
How paradoxical.
No it isn't. Tolerance is a social contract; if you don't abide by it you don't get to be protected by it. Simple as.
Cars in cities.
You don't realize how insane they are until you spend time somewhere without them.
I don't need to. I can feel the sweet death threat every time I cross the road on the zebra lines without traffic lights.
Idiots.
Though sometimes that includes myself.
Noise.
The sound of other people eating.
Littering.
People who think they’re an island. I don’t know how to describe it. People who operate like little effort should be expended on the fact that other humans exist around them and they’re part of society along with some responsibility for that society. Doesn’t matter if it’s stopping in the middle of a busy sidewalk in a group and blocking it, driving the speed limit in the passing lane, or utterly destroying the use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation in an online post forcing the reader to translate it into something meaningful. People unwilling to return the courtesies and efforts those around them offer by default.
At this point, everything.
Hear you there!
Outside the realm of Political Economy, I really can't stand it when people cancel plans last second, especially if they ghost. If you're going to cancel on the group hangout, let us know!
If they do that more than a few times I’m not inviting them anymore
Agreed! Having to manage that with the TTRPG group I run right now. Cutting it close.
I used to do this when I felt unwelcome (I actually was). Maybe you could make sure your friends know you really would like them to come
Oh they definitely do know they are welcome, but I appreciate the advice!
People who chew with their mouth open. Looks and sounds disgusting.
I have a nearly fully blocked nose, always have. As such I can’t really breathe through my nose at all (also my sense of smell is nearly nonexistent). I still eat with my mouth closed. It does take me a while longer though, since I basically need to stop eating in order to breathe. But I’d rather do that than the alternative, because I agree with you, chewing with your mouth open is disgusting and disrespectful.
Botulinum toxin
You can blame @Mubelotix@jlai.lu for that one.
AI
Cars, plastic, capitalism and fascism.
Exercise. In my case it's so bad that "sitting upright" counts as exercise. Or "watching something slightly intellectually stimulating". I basically live 24/7 in bed. Haven't showered in months. I look forward to the next day my wife shaves off my ugly ass dirty greasy hair.
Bullying, weather it is physical, intellectual or emotional...it just grinds my gears.
People who call putting an ipad in front of their kid "parenting".
Tailgating
I would tack on shitty drivers in general. People driving in the shoulder just bc they're in a hurry or think they're important, not using turn signals, not letting people merge, being distracted using their phone, weaving through traffic at high speed; things got way worse during the pandemic and they haven't at all improved at least as far as I can tell.
People being rude to customer facing employees.
Bullshit
People accusing me when I'm not the one responsible
Wood in my mouth; I struggle with popsicle sticks and chopsticks as a result.
Arrogance
Tequila, takes very little compared to other spirits to make me nauseous.
Coffee :(
The "virus wombo combo" of mono and COVID fucked a lot of things up permanently, but most of them have rebounded to an acceptable state. Whenever I drink coffee it fucks me up, even decaf coffee. Makes me feel tired as hell, stressed, overstimulated. It also seems to last for almost a full day. Drink coffee in the morning, and I have a big chance of sleeping badly.
Not that it's guaranteed to hold me back...
Every now and then the sane part of my brain forgets to pay attention and my coffee craving gets the better of me.
Do other cafinated drinks have the same effect?
Not nearly as bad, if at all. I drink a lot of tea on work days (probably over a liter) and have never had issues with that. I don't regularly drink energy drink or cola etc, but he times that I had them also didn't have the same effect.
While caffeine also doesn't necessarily make my body happy, I do think that there's something else that upsets my body when drinking coffee. Maybe something to do with dehydration or histamine intolerance. Idk.
Edit: hmmm but apparently black tea and green tea are also high in histamine and I drink a lot of that. It remains a mystery
People misusing words
Misusing them in what weigh? Like using an uncorrect word? Or using a word that has a different consternation than the one they meant to use?
Expanding the meaning of a word
For example, naming every person with a authoritarian ideology a nazi
People who micromanage, either directed at me or someone else
Lactose
Not being on time. Having enough going on, I don't want to waste my time waiting for someone.
People
It's true. I've been getting back into religion just to pray that God makes humanity extinct.
"Instead of heaven on earth, they made heaven in hell"
Weed
Chocolate! I have no idea why but if I eat more than a small bar of chocolate in a short time span I get this tingling sensation in my mouth, forehead and temples. It's not painful or anything just very weird and I've had it all my life. I've been tested for an allergy to chocolate and it came back negative!
milk
Hypocrisy
Incoherence, and it's particuarly bad when I realize i'm being incoherent
Religious people sense of rightness
So much this. I was having a discussion with one religious zealot and he kept insisting, "he's your god too" when I referred to yahweh as "his god". No asshole, I don't subscribe to your fairy tales. Though, in a nod to keeping the discussion civil, I limited my responses, to "no, I don't subscribe to your beliefs." Getting upset, yelling or insulting only plays to their ability to project victim-hood. So, it's important to stay calm and keep the conversation rational and focused on the failures of their explanations. You will never convince the delusional to give up their delusions, but you can convince the other people around, who aren't fully delusional, to question the delusions.
Passive aggressive emoji usage
Yeah okay dude 😂 you have such a great point 😏🤓🍆

For f@%ing everything these days...
Incompetence
Bigotry
Lies and deceit.
I feel like I'm being played for a fool by not telling me the truth and wanting to sugar coat it or something. I can't stand it whoever it comes from, be it a stranger or my own mother.
Parents refusing to notice their children's needs
It's a real problem, but I hate filler words. "Um uh hmm" just immediately makes me want to cover my ears and tune out the conversation. It's at a level where I've seriously considered vocal therapy to make certain I never do them anymore, but that doesn't really solve the issue since nearly everyone ends up using them. I just have to try and let go of the obsession, but it's so hard.
That's sad to hear, especially since filler words are a vital part of our language
Starch. This limits what I can eat. Unfortunately I didn't know this growing up, so I ate a pretty carb heavy diet which caused health issues which caused me to be grouchy a lot. Took until I nearly 40 to figure out that I wasn't just an unstable asshole.
Dithering... Shit or get off the pot.
People unable to pick up sarcasm through text.
People who lack self discipline.
Intolerance.
Thanks karl popper.
