Triggers some boomers too, since we had to listen to it on the radio (AM) from time to time.
It's a beautiful song! The lyrics are very touching and realistic... but the West lost its heart and depth sometime in the last century (people used to dance to "Baby Come Back" and Barry White, there used to be real emotion, real lyrics and vulnerability in display, now we have Ice Spice). It's poetry with a chill melodic base, those who don't care for the poetry might not appreciate it and I guess that's fine and expected.
First time hearing it btw, thanks for the recommendation!
Zillennial here. It's completely unremarkable. Not my cup of tea since I'm a death metal guy but...am I missing something?
Interesting. Still completely ambivalent.
I mean, it is pretty awful.
What generation are you?
Silent Generation.
