Lemmy replaces Reddit addiction, and I feel like it made it even worse for some of us as there's more incentive to make this place succeed as it is still in its early days ๐
I've spent the last month of my life basically glued to Lemmy, answering support requests and posting threads in communities I wanted to see grow. My work output may drop to zero, my marriage may fail, but goddammit there are people who don't know how to sub to communities on another instance and they need my help!
On Reddit I would just lurk, but with Lemmy I really do want it to succeed, so I've been contributing where I can, and for whatever reason it's been mainly on lotr memes (check them out by the way, !lotrmemes@midwest.social)
So ehm, to someone who uses only wefwef, do you have any general tips? I don't have any particular problem now but you seem the type who knows things that makes life easier! If that makes sense, English is not my language
Same, I'm obsessed! I never posted or commented at all, now I mod 2 small communities lol. I didn't even make memes until the other day, this is like my 5th one.
Never had an account on twitter as well. Mainly wanted to get some better visibility into various news and such. Plus federation is awesome.
So far I'm pretty happy with it.
This place is at a magical point in its growth where it has enough people to fully replace that other site for me (but higher quality), but itโs also still new and exciting and worth contributing to help it succeed.
Yeah it feels fun. For me it's the only time I've actually enjoyed being involved in social media and I'm getting really into it lol. I've even started making memes!
