Wow that really hurts

Building a portal like that is so much effort because you literally can't mine Obisian (I tried it with my stone pickaxe!), so you have to find a lava source and bring bucket after bucket to the surface, only to find out that the Nether isn't real UmU

I've been playing Minecraft since before the world was infinite, and I have no idea what this is referring to.
