I just break the bead, pour it in, and reseat/reinflate. Not prehistoric, no big deal really.
Reseating has always been the issue for me. I can never get the full bead seated without an air compressor, and even then it can be hard to get that final pop
Yup, it depends extremely on the tire/rim combination. Some are extremely easy, some are almost impossible to get seated.
I have a compressor bottle. You pump it up with your foot pump to about 10 bar and then use that to fill the tire. Works pretty much every time.
