Rewatched Legion. Originally I watched up to the end of S2 when it came out, but it started going a bit too off the rails and by the time S3 came out, I was completely lost.
I'm glad I rewatched it though because S3 takes a new and interesting direction with better pacing, and without sacrificing creativity. Great series.
I was able to watch season 1 and 2 at the same time and had to wait for 3. It was tough taking the break and trying to come back into it. Very complicated in parts but such a fun show, I've been meaning to rewatch it.
I'm watching season 1 right now, it's a real headfuck but I think the actors are carrying it well.
Season 1 probably has the most coherent narrative of the 3 lmao. The other seasons are still good but a lot of the episodes are fully self-contained headfucks
Aculpulco on Apple TV.
It's in the vein of Jane the Virgin, but not as heavy on the telenovella elements. Light-hearted and fairly funny.
For just me, I finally finished Trek SNW in preparation for the new season. Holy shit I couldn't have imagined waiting this long with the cliffhanger of season 2.
I just started Acapulco. It's a great little story, I've really been enjoying it! My Spanish is almost good enough to get by without subtitles. Estoy tan orgulloso de me mismo!!
Kinda liking Revival. Started Sandman S2, but only watching 1 per week with friend.
Finished Dying for Sex. It was ok, but I kept getting distracted by thoughts like, "I bet this was uglier in real life." Of course, we probably want our media to be more fun and exciting than real life, but it is rare that I'm disrtacted by the ... 'cleanliness?' of a show.
side note: I did NOT like Interior Chinatown. I enjoyed the first couple episodes, but then it dragged, and I found the ending completely unsatisfying, with big holes left unfilled.
Debating if I should rewatch S1 of Peasemaker before starting S2.
I was also disappointed by interior china town. Cool concept, but the story dragged and the cinematography was too gloomy.
"Murderbot" is the perfect combination of smart and silly.
"Landman" is Billy Bob Thornton at his best. And yes, he pooh poohs the environmental impact of oil, because he's playing an oil man in Texas.
Murderbot, Them, and The Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime. The anime is surprisingly fun, with very low stakes. I watch that one on my commute to/from work.
Just finished Murderbot. It's pretty good. I heard the books have way more stuff happening, but as a non-reader, the show was good as it was - a fun, quirky series that had just the right amount of run time.
This one is anime, but I'm currently watching Samurai Champloo, a 2004 animated series. It's great, and the soundtrack is amazing (Nujabes). Check out the ending credits song.
just the right amount of run time.
The overall amount of runtime might have been ok, but imo the short episode duration paired with a weekly release schedule imo was terrible.
Besides that (as a book reader) i felt a bit underwhelmed. Somehow i just didn't click with the cast. Although i wasn't as irritated as expected by the fact that murderbot was depicted as male. In the books the gender and appearance is never specified and i somehow had a female mental image, a bit more in the sarcastic direction like glados from the portal games.
Ah yeah I can imagine it being a pain to watch a 30-minute episode week by week. I binged episodes 1 to 8, then waited for 9 and 10 before watching them together, so it didn't feel too bad for me.
Fellow Travelers - Worth the hype. Peacemaker - Just started, I'm so glad to watch a DC show that's not made by Berlanti
Best opening song and dance!
Fellow Travelers, this one? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15384586/
In doubt : rematch DS9 and Voyager
I JUST finished a rewatch of Voyager. I forgot how weird and abrupt feeling the finale was.
Untamed:
Sigh is all I have too say.
The show takes place in Yosemite National Park and there are some gorgeous scenes. Though I suspect most of the filming was not in the park.
The cast did what they could with the crap they were given.
The show started off ok and just went down hill. The story was so predictable, there were some side plots that just went nowhere. Characters became caricatures the longer the show went on and there were a few (three) too many last minute rescues that were just so insultingly bad. The big twist at the end was telegraphed a mile away.
The whole mess is just on par with so much of what Netflix churns out.
