This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Whether in the bus or in line at a register. People will wait their turn patiently enough, playing on phones or staring into space.

When and only when they reach the front of the line, have a captive audience of a dozen odd people, will the show begin. We are treated to great variety of expressions on the payee's face. The languid reach for the bag, the rooting through, the unrelated thoughts and revelations brought forth by the detritus being rifled through. All translated onto their face for our, the captive audience's pleasure. Finally, with a look of self satisfaction they will take many times over the time anyone needs.

But the show is not over yet! Instead of clearing the area for the next person, we, the captive audience, will watch an encore of returning the payment method to the bag. Presumably to hide it under layers of trash. Perhaps this is done to deter thieves. We may never know. Mother nature guards her secrets jealously.

Then and only then is the ritual done. The person having inconvenienced a dozen people at a go.

I'd love to hear a few more! I came across some Frisian media once. It wasn't mutually intelligible with English, but it seemed close. I could understand some fragments and meaning, much like the native English speaker could pick up some stuff from romance languages. Lol for years I had a tv VCR combo with only The Goonies, In The Army Now, and some old MASH episodes someone put on a tape. A simpler time indeed!

I use mint. Everything works without too much fuss. Certainly easier than dealing with an endless stream of corpo shenanigans. It works quicker than windows ever did.

It's a pleasant enough little town, but low laying. I used to truck and went there a few times. But you get the feeling there's an imminent flood coming. Just due to geography I wouldn't want to own anything that isn't a railroad bridge there.
