What's something you slowly lost interest in?

Consuming snippets of my aquiantances lives through social media as a form of entertainment. It's been a few years since I quit and is still one of the best things I've donde for myself in recent times.
Yep it started off as fun but slowly turned into a dumpster fire. Everyone projects something that they want to be on it, small issues become HUGE and there's so much negative shit
Politics.
There was a time when I thought the system could be changed from within. That the solution to society's troubles was to get the right candidate running and elected.
Years of constant disillusionment have led me to believe the direct opposite: that the mistake was getting involved in partisanship at all. Now my politics are individual and issues-driven, not related to political parties and processes.
I used to be super into MTG but fell out of it this year because they have been extending the time between them dropping new sets.
I kind of want to get back into it but I also like having more free time lol.
My ex husband, lol.
Past the joke, I grew a ton over the course of a few years through therapy and understanding some things. And after many years in that relationship, I just lost interest and then began to resent all the things I was putting up with.
I call it a win :)
Well done for making that growth! And well done for acknowledging your marriage wasn't right, denial is so easy
Getting my hair done regularly. There were a couple of years after a got the point of not living hand to mouth when I'd go at least every month if not every couple of weeks ... and it petered out.
These days my wife trims it to length a couple of times a year, as long as it's not lopsided I don't really care how it looks, lol
We're not sure we are slowly losing interest in anything, but we can tell you things we have lost interest in, if you'd like.
That's a better question so I've edited it thanks oftheair!
Go on...
Open-source, and technology in general. There was a time when I would spend most of my free time playing with niche software, learning about the history of free software movement and trying to get into programming.
Nowadays? Well, I still use and love free software of course. I wasn't disillusioned in it or anything (especially given the state of modern proprietary software, eg Windows 11). But the interest is gone - I have my comfy setup, and changing or fixing anything in it feels like pain. I can't stand drama that fills the open source community and prefer to keep VERY, very far from it. Outside of gamedev, programming didn't work for me that much (as a hobby - I do want to make money off it).
My interest in Fediverse is an accelerated version of this due to the social aspect of this technology - after trying out the microblogging part of Fedi I realized that social media isn't for me, and so only Lemmy remains in my daily usage.
To be fair, I don't use the centralized services which the Fedi projects are meant to replace (xitter, instagram, youtube, etc).
I used to LOVE celeb gossip when I was younger, I'd buy gossip magazines every week and look it up online. I'd love to say I'd realised it was exploitative and stopped doing it... but I didn't. I just lost interest
Everything. Except the things I quickly lose interest in.
