The Guardian Media Group has entered into a strategic partnership with OpenAI, integrating its journalism into ChatGPT and rolling out AI-powered tools across its operations.
Completely non-biased on this subject I am sure.

This opinion piece is shit and it is pathetically trying to bring the term "AI Vegan" in vogue. This article adds nothing else to the conversation except regurgitating old shit.
This is such a dumb headline
- Given how the media and tech bros talk/think about vegans, it's insulting propaganda.
AI is also just... Trash.
It can't do my dishes. It can't vacuum the apartment. It can't do my laundry. You can't ask it information because it'll just be wrong 20% of the time. It can't automate all the annoying things in my life that get in the way of what I love doing:
Art.

- Veganism is a philosophy of minimising harm to animals as much as is practicable. There are no health reasons for being vegan, there are health reasons for following a plant based diet which vegans do instrumentally. A "vegan for health" would e.g. wear skins and fur.
  So this article fundamentally misunderstands veganism. Then applies it inappropriately.
- This sounds like a marketing attempt to align us modern Luddites with an already established "out group" to build a public perception against abstaining from planet killing slop generators.
  
  Corporate news and media, especially in cases like this, has always been a tool to turn the uninformed public against educated dissenters. They targeted hippies in the 70s for speaking out about the military and prison industrial complexes and this is more of the same. It's a cheap attack that always works.
- I think there are multiple levels on which to be annoyed by this article. 😬
- Vegans are against animal cruelty and exploitation. While there certainly overlap between AI and side effects impacting animals (like sucking up all the fucking water), i think this is a pretty gross title and using the term vegan for any other cause is stupid/ sensationalist.
  They basically are going with "vegan means they don't eat animal byproducts so an AI vegan doesn't use AI". But if you just are not eating animal byproducts then you're just on a diet and are not Vegan. So i can only assume AI Vegan, if "vegan" was used correctly here, would mean you're against AI cruelty and exploitation. I don't think that's what you guys are about

I don’t use “AI” cause chat bots are stupid. AI has been fine for decades, the cars in Gran Turismo had sufficient AI to drive around the track. This modern definition is just horse shit for another attempt at Silicon Valley to claim they are superior than every other industry. Sam Altman is a fraud and modern “AI” gobeldyguk.

The Guardian is supposedly "left" and yet they're following the scripts handed down by right wing extremist techbrodudes.

The ethical and environmental reasons are secondary to the fact that LLMs are figurative shit and the bubble will burst in a year or so and anyone who comes to rely on ChatGPT to do their thinking for them is going to be shit out of luck.
Look at those weird hairshirters abstaining from the basics of modern life like vibe coding, bot art and the smooth sounds of The Velvet Sundown. I mean, what a bunch of freaky cultists, right?
