Just gonna note that Iran isn't committing or trying to commit genocide anywhere. They're assholes, but their level of assholery is like an order of magnitude less than that.
I'd argue that what happened right after Islamic revolution back in '81-82 was going really close to genocide, with all that "purification from non-Islamic elements". And "non-Islamic" in Middle East almost always means some cultural minority.
