I think you just circle around him while slashing, and optionally set him on fire?
Essentially. Just doesn't make for a fun fight for me - it's not what I want out of Sekiro
Honestly no other game has managed to make both the parrying and the dodging feel great.
Finished lies of P and just couldn’t stand how the parry window and the animations align. They seemingly can’t telegraph a normal swing. Every attack swing has a weird delay and timing in some combos. Can parry most of them just not every attack in a combo. It’s not even doge catches just the default animations are bizarre. And I know it’s not TV input lag because I have absolutely no issues with nailing every parry in Sekiro or playing Hi-Fi Rush with an S rank.
Still would prefer to fight two of these ogres over some of the hidden warriors later in the game 🤦‍♂️
I eventually got a pretty good feel for Lies of P and felt like it was a really good middle ground between Sekiro and Dark Souls 3. It felt weird at first but I think the jerky animations are part of the movement for the puppets and that jerky movement gets weirdly readable.
Yea I know what you mean. Romeo's combo, for example, is notoriously hard to parry for many players and even after several playthroughs, I still struggle with it and usually have to just run away from it. In comparison, I can rather easily defeat Isshin without getting hit once :s
I still like the parries in LoP for the most part, specifically Green Swamp Monster and Laxasia are quite fun to fight with the parries, but I get what you mean. It's always felt a little tighter and less forgiving than Sekiro
Sekiro's first mandatory boss teaching you how to dodge very near the start of the game
Sekiro players refusing to learn more than one mechanic:
Doesn’t help that the grab hit boxes are so big and last so long that dodging doesn’t work well either. If anything this boss teaches you to sprint away instead of dodging.
I have a very short attention span - you can't make me focus on more than one thing at a time
It's well deserved if you're learning the game and skipped the 2 1/2 optional bosses before this.
This guy sucks even more when you fight him in the castle and your camera gets all fucky on the walls.
Fire. The dudes you can overhear right in front of him basically tell you that's its weakness. Also the candy that temporarily ups your attack strength is super useful that early in the game.
Yup, it's an open invitation to explore Hirata estate if you're struggling with the fight
