I have actually spent a great deal of time coming through motherboards and all the things that go along with it to make sure everything is compatible

Your server build lacks storage or power supply.

Your general use lacks storage. I would also recommend adjusting to i5/16GB for general use. If you end up gaming then you could have an excuse to bump it to 32GB along with of course a video card.

when considering a 2ru case. consider future use. the case will only take half-height, half lenght cards which could issues down the track if you want to add graphics or HBA cards.

If you won't think you'll need them everything should be fine.

  That is why I selected CPUs with onboard graphics.
  
  I also have a Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter I225 Series and a QNAP QSW-2104-2S is an unmanageable switch with 2 x 10 GbE SFP+ ports and 4 x 2.5 GbE ports

Need a power supply. Does anyone know if the Rosewill 2U cases are compatible with a water cooler? I'm doing the home server in a 2U as well so have been looking at options here for cases.

- I have a Corsair Professional Series 80 PLUS Gold (AX850) with cables
  
  The case has 2 80 fans at the rear.
  
  It is only built for 4 SATA devices.
  
  I have 2 Seagate Dell enterprise plus ST4000NM0023 4 TB SAS 2 3.5 in Enterprise Drives
  
  I have 2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB
  
  Plan to use the NVME in RAID 1 if possible
