Australia's best coffee of 2025 has been crowned

Coffee Mentality in Brisbane has taken out the top prize of "champion coffee" with a score of 92 out of 100.

The local brand took out Champion Coffee for it's Auditory Blend, one of their nine locally produced, sustainable blends.

Look at me, I'm the coffee snob now πŸ‘‘

  • This happened to my daily coffee place in Melbourne in 2008/2009 sometime. It ruined the place - all the regulars had to go elsewhere because the lines were too long etc. After people had gone all this way to try the coffee and say "Yeah, it's good coffee, but it isn't that much better than my normal place to be worth 20 minutes out of my way".

    Then those people who tried it once tapered out, there weren't enough regulars left to keep the business afloat.

  • Speaking of being a coffee snob.... 😎 I haven't bought a made coffee in a long time... We get our beans from Blue Sky at Yerongpilly and stick it in the machine which pumps out something better than anything I ever remember buying. Dash of hazlenut syrup, two espresso shots, and add hot foamed oat milk until my mug is full. Delicious.

    Unrelated: nine.com.au's website is freakin' horrible. I just want to see a source for the result, but every link is just a link back to a barely relevant link to an old news article on Nine's website. I found the link to the RASNSW site on a different article... didn't even show up in a Google search which is another reason Google sucks. Rewards news stories about the results rather than the results themselves ffs...     Also the prize is for best coffee which is 85% Australian origin which means the beans will have to be grown here... which makes it pretty niche? We don't grow much coffee here

    Good on them regardless though. They sell beans on their website by the looks (https://coffeementality.com.au/shop/) so I'll have to give them a go.
