One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.”
Whoever scrawled 'ANTI ICE' could at least have had the decency and respect to lie well.
- it feels like the same effort when russia framed a citizen over there. they left a note in the camera shot saying to leave 3 sim, so they left 3 sim games. note said to write a letter and sign it. the signature said 'signature'. id like to sit in on the talk for what to right on the case just to hear this high level brainstorming.
So either the shooter screwed up and hit detainees instead, or they're covering up the attack and painting it as a "anti-ice" attack instead? Extremely confusing
I don't understand why the shooter would target the prisoners if they were "anti ice". Unless they really were a terrible shot. It just doesn't make sense
- my personal take on this is, its some rightwinger trying to get the troubles to pop off. we saw it with kirk, a rightwinger shot a rightwinger and the right was calling for the blood of everyone different than them. a rightwinger shot at trump, whether a set up or not, the right was foaming at the mouth to attack the anyone different. a rightwinger was found with a gun on his golf trip.... again calls for violence to the non rightwing. something like 97% of political violence is rightwing. they want a war and we will keep seeing all these crimes getting. blamed on everyone else, until someone fights back or they feel they are losing power.

  speculating without evidence about the identity/motivation of shooters is bad. it's bad when right-wingers do it and it's bad when people on the left do it.
  just wait. wait for actual reliable evidence to come out. there's no prize for saying 5 minutes after the shooting "I bet it was someone who thought X" and having that turn out to be correct.
at least 2 detainees have been killed, but i do not see much info on how many have been injured.
shooter shot himself when agents began to approach.
neom is already trying to play it as an attack on ICE agents.

edit2: a stripper of bullets was found, at least one had marking, 'anti ICE'. personal take based off what i am seeing on reddit. this was another far right shooter trying to stir up more rightwing violence. someone thats 'anti ICE' would attack ICE agents not the people they hold hostage. i see too many saying it was the left or it targeted ICE.

shooter has been IDed. he is registered as independent, didnt speak to family about politics or showed any opions in that regard. he was unemployed and planning to move out of state to his parents home. some sources state 1 person had died most state 2. 1 was killed on site, 2 were taken to a hospital where a 2nd passed. no ICE or other personal were injured only detainees. DHS, president and vice president are spreading false information. GOP members have joined in on blaming 'the left'.
speculation, i feel we will see links to goypers or similar rightwing groups. they have been looking to cause problems to push their own goals by inciting violence.
This hed conflicts with the story. One death at the facility, then the shooter offed himself.
While that's technically two "fatalities," it's misleading to frame it that way.

Odds are in your favor, but can you tell us where you got that the shooter was white? It’s not in the video or text.
- Police sources say the sniper, identified as a white male, was armed with a rifle on a roof. He shot himself as agents approached him.
