This right here are why homophobes exist. Bear with me a few.

We all go through a fucking mess during puberty. Despite pegging STRAIGHT on the Kinsey scale, I had a fantasy or two, though no experiments. Not sure how normal the lack of experimentation is, seems like girls fuck about a bit more, but I suspect I missed out.

People that think anything other than cis is a choice have surely felt the same way at some point. They honestly think kid's sexuality and gender can be changed, influenced. Thinking anything other than cis is bad or evil, they want to shield their kids from it. If you felt that way, wouldn't you?

I know, you know, how ridiculous the notion of choice is. OTOH, I stated on here that "attraction is not a choice", in the context of me not enjoying the sight of men kissing one another. You guessed it, a lemmy user jumped on my case.

So I asked them, as I asked my formerly homophobic friend, "OK. It's a choice. Tell me about when you made your choice as a horny teenager? I know you like $X, tell me when you decided to find $X hot. I had a 6-yo chubby for Wonder Woman, and seeing her tied up, uh, brought, uh, feelings I didn't understand. Didn't seem I had a choice, but you did? Do tell? In any case, why would anyone sane choose to bat for the more difficult team? Especially when fitting in as a teen is hard enough?"

Yes, kids can be confused for a minute, it'll work out. Given today's homosexual and trans acceptance, I might have stated I was trans in the day. My 12-yo daughter told me she was bi last summer. Never kissed a boy or a girl, just now growing breasts. LOL. Whatever. We'll see how that goes. Money says she's straight as a pool stick. Don't care either which way.

Used to always laugh that I should have been born a woman, or was one in a past life. Got along best with them, related better in many ways. Guys rejected me when girls took me in. Had 5 girlfriends in 6th grade! Turns out, I'm a man whore. Who knew?
