Gusto ko uli mag beach, nangangati ang paa ko. Kung si friend palaging tumitingin ng cheap plane ticket prices para sa nilalandi niya, ako naman cheap or onsale accomodations lol.
For example, magkakaroon ng time na 3 days wala akong pasok. What am I going to do with those 3 days? Might as well go to the beach! sighs in disbelief at self
Medyo alam ko na ang pasikot-sikot dun sa lugar na gusto ko so I can get by cheap now. At the same time, pigilan niyo ko 😩 sabi ko sa sarili ko next month na uli ang punta ko dahil kailangan natin ✨mag-ipon✨ at mag hinay-hinay. Ang hirap, I just wanna go and book something
It really is 😆 I think I've had enough time with myself already, gusto na lang mag beach for fun so I don't really know if it's justified. Ayaw ko lang sumobra sa bakasyon to the point na ang sobrang gastos ko na.
Ang lungkot ng may hilig kang niche hobby and wala kang mapagkuwentuhan sa circle of friends mo. I love light novels but ny friends only love manga, manhwa, and anime. Well, I know that not everyone is into reading walls of text and I don't resent them for that but wala lang, malungkot lang HAHAHA wala akong ma-impart-an ng saya or reactions ko sa nabasa ko
I can discuss films from 70s to present time, at wala akong mapagkwentuhan. Nowadays, audiences, both theaters and at home, just consume product, open their smartphones and take a photo with flash on. This is the case when I watched The Meg 2.
When I open discussions they're just simply slap me with "Napanood ko na yan. Maganda naman, walakumpake sa story" card. Parang nasa The Truman Show's last few seconds lang, eh.
Alala ko when we had Charades at work as part of a getting-to-know-you activity, yung babae namin na kakampi kept on laughing hysterically at the clue shown to her. From what I remember, it was an ordinary movie; hindi ko na-gets ano ba tinatawanan niya. The guy beside me deadpanned "Dr. Giggles" (some bad forgettable horror movie about a killer dentist with a laughing disorder) and I just about lost it, lol. He became a close friend later and part of my wedding entourage.
Lol, just wait until their LN to manga/anime adaptations end and then they want more. That's what made me move from anime, to manga, and eventually a bit of light novels (but mostly web novels).
There's a few web novels that I started following because their manga/anime adaptations kept me wanting more.
Having said all that, I don't think I've really settled in. I tend to skim WN chapters rather than read them, and even after hundreds of WN chapters, I still have no idea what the hell has happened (other than a basic outline of the plot so far), or maybe that's just due to the quality of writing. That's why I tend to prefer manga: It has more content than anime, but still giving me a better mental picture of what's happening.
Some of the webnovels I'm following (but not religiously) are:
Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi
Isekai ni Otosareta… Jouka wa Kihon!
Shoushaman no Isekai Survival ~Zettai Hito to wa Tsurumanee~
Yeah yeah, that's what I hope happens. Na macurious sila sa daloy ng story that they start reading the novels. I pointed them to A Certain Magical Index and Classroom of the Elite as examples of brilliant light novel series that have crappy anime adaptations. One of my friends dived into one LN - That Time I Reincarnated As A Slime - but nothing more, nothing less. Well, I guess that's a win. Somehow.
Ako mahilig sa Barbie dolls pero ayaw ko na muna sumali actively sa isang doll community. Lurker mode lang kung online.
Nakakapagod kasi yung mga mini sewing projects at activities. Masaya yung activities pero nakakapagod. Imagine, magbibihis ka ng mga dolls based on a theme, parang Project Runway. Minsan kasi, it feels like work. Demanding. Hindi naman sa fashion industry trabaho ko, unlike other members.
I prefer novels din vs manhwa/anime. Ang bilis ng story progression and mas fleshed out yung characters.
What's the full title? I'm not quite into isekais as much as I am to romcom, psychological, and drama LNs, but I've read KonoSuba from the fifth volume up to end, and I'm currently reading Re:Zero Volume 18 right now so I'm pretty acquainted with the genre.
Also, I agree. A lot of character monologues are lost when adapting a text-based piece into a picture-based one. That's why I'm pretty unsatisfied with the anime adaptations of light novels - they just don't do justice to the characters at all and those that should be redeemable or loveable end up getting hated or shallow. I know it's hard to translate character internal monologues into something tangible on the screen, but still it makes me sigh. :<
Artemis (Apollo-inspired Lemmy app) is now available for early access on Play Store. It looks really good. It gives me the closest feel to browsing Reddit than any other app.
It's currently kbin only, so you can't sign in or browse Lemmy instances for now.
An unfortunate combination of circumstances that led me to struggle connecting my desktop to the internet--but only on Linux.
A broken driver was exposed due to a failed system update. I tried fixing the broken driver not knowing that my internet connection was actually broken at the time. For the meanwhile, I tried connecting to the internet via my phone's portable hotspot, via bluetooth (I don't even know why this works). The various "fixes" I tried broke other things, even as far as borking my Windows installation because ... I thought Windows was messing with my LAN card.
After giving it up, and way too many restarts both on Linux and Windows, I found Windows working again (I thought I reinstalled windows). My Linux system, save for the internet connection, is unscathed.
I think I've offended the God of Tech. I might have to give them an offering.
Update:
It was a misconfiguration (?) somewhere in the mess that handles my system's DNS settings. For some reason, it can't find either my preferred DNS server or the cloudflare one. I had to hardcode 8.8.8.8 in the resolv.conf file.
It's a bandaid solution, but I've got a lot of work piled up that I must finish by today.
That's strange. So it doesn't respect the /etc/hosts file? Supposedly, resolv.conf should still use the hosts file, but it looks like your system is putting up a tantrum.
Even though I'm practically a hermit nowadays, a steam deck. And also phone I can use for "RL stuff". If there's anything left extra, I'll buy some games.
I can also spend all of the money to upgrade my PC, but I consider that one as a work expense, so... IDK.
As much as I admire Leni Robredo, I don't think this documentary gained anything by covering her. A lot of it has been covered before, and I'm not sure we gain any new insight into anything by talking to her. She says some nice things, but it feels like time spent with her takes away time from the stories of victims. She's a marquee name that is very good on camera, but I don't know that this movie really needed her.
