Are they expecting never to qualify for the next 8 years? It doesn't add up though. I think they're just ripping the band-aid off and saying we'll take the fine or whatever and load up on young talent now. Ideally if they hoard enough young talent they can even ride out a transfer ban.
That makes sense. Now I just want to know why Lavia and Caiceido both prefer Chelsea over Liverpool. I guess cold hard cash and that's it? But it's not like Liverpool would be paying them in Mars bars and recycled copper piping or something.
I'd rather be part of a decent rebuild project where I could become a lynchpin in midfield, than be clueless Todd Boehly's latest import buy in a misfit system.
Honestly, even just so that he's happy he shoulda been on the bench for that game. Can't understand why we would want to bin him off — unless we think that Zinchenko can magically stay fit playing every game this season. Who do we play in the CL for rotation? Even assuming Timber was available which he clearly will not be anymore, if we want to rotate, Tierney has to play. That or we only rotate in part and risk having one injury to our defence make the rest play as much as Saka. It's not like he's a bad player. As versatile as Tomi and Timber are, they can't play all spots at once, and Tomi's had several long injuries that make me worried about his long-term fitness.
Didn't take too long for a VAR farce to screw a team over. Hope this isn't foreshadowing the rest of the season because last season VAR was an absolute affront.
I'm just hoping it wasn't an ACL, and it's just like something simpler that has less long-term shit... I hate this club sometimes. Can we please just get some better physios.
