The Ukrainian military shot down two Russian planes, A-50 and IL-22, over the waters of the Sea of Azov.

Intercepted conversation of the Il-22M11 with the airfield controller in Anapa. The plane urgently asked for emergency landing, firefighters on the spot and an ambulance.

expect another tantrum from russ ... I would avoid playgrounds and such for one or two days.
According to Wikipedia:
Russia is believed to have nine or ten operational A-50s
Losing 10% of your A-50 fleet in a single event is discouraging, I’ll wager.
From my limited understanding of these things, eliminating information-mission craft is a huge deal
- And they only ever made like 10 of that model, so this is going to have a noticeable impact somewhere.

Oh shit, they nailed their AWACS?? Good kill. They don’t have that many of those things.
