They are called earthworms. This isn't news or some new discovery. Anyone who gardens is aware of what they can do and the benefit they provide.
If you have a back yard of any size, there is zero excuse for dumping food waste into the trash. You can buy prefabricated composters or make your own. I have several places in my yard where I dump anything that will decompose. I have a few large containers as well as a couple of larger planter boxes that get food waste and the pine cat litter dumped in it.
Right isn’t this already why so many landfills burry their trash with vents so it can naturally decompose from nature lol
Yes. They also typically are designed to capture the methane and other gases.
