Imzy, the self-styled friendlier alternative to Reddit, is shutting down. So it appears people are perfectly happy with the slightly more rambunctious nature of other social media sites.
Beehaw kind of seems like a resurrection of the spirit of Imzy. I was sad when it shut down. Very happy Beehaw exists.
