Can I use Google Play without a SIM card? I listen to audiobooks and don't want to drain the battery on my personal phone so was going to buy a mini android and download Libby onto it and use that for listening to audiobooks but I don't want to buy one if that won't work. I have searched for my answer and can't really find anything. Once I have Libby on it I can just use my wifi so won't ever have to use a sim card. I only want Libby (free books through library) not audible. Thanks for any help!
Technically, you correct. The best kind of correct! OP could use a tablet, a ChromeOS device, an emulator, I think even Google TVs have Play Store access...There's probably someone out there right now trying to use their smart fridge to access the play store
yes. use wifi instead of sim-card data and you're all set. i doubt google play services care which way of data transfer you're using to access your account on play store.
Yes as long as you have a Gmail account and a payment method you can put on file you can use Google Play without a sim card just over wifi. All a sim card does is connect you to a cellular network, it shouldn't really affect your ability to set up any Google services
