if his chirality is the wrong way around, they'd either have to synthesize all the food he eats in a lab or develop a whole parallel ecosystem with chriality of everything reversed. most expensive treatment ever. how has he even survived for that long? am I overanalyzing a bad pun? yes
That's why I didn't like it when Henry asked if his DNA was a mirror image. I feel like a man in his position would understand that about biology. It comes up all the time when talking about space travel and exoplanets.
The entire concept of a very similar mirror universe with all the same players in the same positions is nonsense when thought about from the perspective of chaos theory. Decades have passed since the first space travel. The world would be very different by now. You and I wouldn't even live in the same homes as we do now if some astronauts died 50 years ago. That's how chaotic modern society is.
And you definitely wouldn't be in the same room as the other you, just with your cabinet on the other wall. You might not even exist. Your parents might never have met. That's how much entropy there is in modern civilization. The smallest monkey wrench thrown in the gears will have enormous changes after decades.
If you use !syncforlemmy@lemmy.world enjoy the unmasked spoilers! Tell LJ to fix them. I used proper Lemmy spoiler markdown with no exclamations or lt/gt signs. Sync displays reddit syntax using those symbols, and for me, it's not even masked. Maybe because Sync knows I wrote it. But it also strips off the warning header which says these spoilers are about the show Constellation. :::
