New research finds a direct causal relationship between unemployment and suicide, suggesting implications for public policy, writes Gareth Hutchens.
Now when economists say that we need to raise unemployment they should just come out and admit that they just want some Australians to die to keep the wealth ponzi going.
Yep when I first saw this study my initial thought was that mutual obligations should have been considered as a key variable in the relationship between suicide and unemployment. I think people who have never been on mutual obligations really struggle to understand just how fucking toxic they are to people's mental health.
My mental health is already bad enough right now with my post-grad existential crisis. Having to worry about, as of all hour ago, being "halfway through your points reporting period" certainly doesn't help.
Being forced into the "Employability Skills Training" in January with Sarina Russo was also degrading...but that's part of the point of the whole exercise.
