Ukraine’s victory is closer than ever – but a shattered Russia is nothing to celebrate

- It reminds me of the Ottoman empire which was deeply sick and murderous before its final demise.
I mean, it sucks, sure. But it's better than a strong, unified Russia, as we've seen.
- At the breakup of every empire, many people were afraid of what would happen. But nowadays numerous free nations that were once a part of this or that empire, celebrate their independent development. I think the same will happen with the forthcoming free nations which are still Russian colonies.
Therese no reason to not Balkanize Russia. The country has not proven itself able to coexist with free states.
- I would agree but there is a problem with eastern nations. They don't really have the structure both socially and physically for sovereignty. And you know Moscow will just invade them, just like they invaded Georgia and Ukraine.
Fantastic summary of recent developments. This meshes pretty well with how an objective viewer should be able to see how the war is going.

- I believe that in the long run the breakdown of the Russian empire will be beneficial, leading to freedom, well-being and prosperity of people who live there. Any empire becomes suffocating at the end of its lifetime, and needs to be dismantled for new countries to develop.
These people are in denial, I’ll see you all when this still isn’t over in 5 years
