Bill Skarsgård has expressed unhappiness with how The Crow ends, suggesting it may be leaving the opportunity for a sequel.
As always, not quite as bad as the headline suggests.
In a new profile in Esquire, Bill Skarsgård said that the ending of The Crow is far from satisfying, declaring, “I personally preferred something more definitive.” This would suggest that Rupert Sanders’ movie teases something more open-ended, quite possibly attempting to set up a sequel to fully reboot the franchise. Did Sanders not see the other Crow movies…?
I feel like the producers of the original film think they have a small cash cow as they have been behind every film since including this one. Although this film has taken over a decade to get to this point.
That's it, folks are looking around for other franchises and they are likely pitching this every chance they get, despite the "franchise" being one great film and quite a few cash-ins of diminishing quality.
I'm booked in to see the original in the cinema and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll go and see the new one too but don't expect much, which might mean I end up unexpectedly impressed by Bill Skarsgård's second one-man-army film of the year.
Sounds like they leave the end somewhat vague which is ridiculous. He and his lover die, he comes back for revenge and when he gets it his reward is rejoining her in death where they are together. It’s perfect. What would a sequel be…they kill his dog like John Wick?
