Anyone have any experience with economy tariffs for hot water system in particular (or any other bigger power usage items)?
Do you get much of any savings on your energy bill?
Any pitfalls I should look out for?
Is this worth looking into before getting a home battery installed?
Any insights would be great, thanks.
If you're looking at batteries, I assume that means you have solar? In that case, it would be better to run your hot water when it's peak solar time (10am to 2pm is about the biggest window you can expect) because then it's free which is a better dollar value than any tariff... isn't it?
That makes way more sense. So getting a timer installed for the hot water system would be way better. Do you know if that is something I can ask a sparky to do, or is it a bit more involved than that? Pretty sure my system doesn't have a timer already.
Lure coursing day! Puppies about to go running and hopefully have a lovely time
It's that the one where they chase the.. lure lol? Zippy fun times for them??
That's the one! Back in the day they'd chase hares or rabbits, then they changed to lures which were bags of meat dragged by hand along a long course, now it's plastic bags on a string rustling through the grass pulled by a motor (electric in this case, petrol at the other one we go to).
