Hey everyone. Since it's been two weeks since the last post, I figured it was time for this chat again. What are you playing? Any new releases you're excited about? Or maybe you're hunting some achievements? Drop your updates below.

Pretty much half of my playtime was in training mode, the rest spent fighting against friends in 1v1. The achievements were more grindy rather than hard, especially the 20kk zeny one. I got lucky when they gave away millions of zenies for free after selling 5 million copies. I couldn't imagine doing this otherwise.

This game also got me more into fighting games. Used to play a lot of MK and Tekken back in the PS1 days, but not many after that. Can't wait for DBFZ2, whenever it comes out.

  • I think the new beta features made it a lot better. Mainly Custom instructions and the code interpreter. Using them generates much better responses.

  • Iirc the iPhone app has a speech to text function. Other than that probably better performance.

  • If you are on windows you can open the image with the standard windows Photos app. Right click the image and there should be an option to resize the image.

    Image 1

Then select Percentage to resize while maintaining the aspect ratio. You can then drop this height or width value and/or change the image into jpg. It will show how much storage space the image will take at the bottom.

  • Hey everyone. I thought it would be nice to have a spot for us to share what games we're up to in general. Like, what games have been keeping you busy, achievements you're hunting for, new releases you're looking forward to, or if you're just replaying old favorites.

I'm thinking of making this a regular thing, maybe a weekly or bi-weekly chat post. Let me know what you all think.

Honestly, I only started playing this game because of this soundtrack. The game itself is pretty good, short, and not too complicated to beat, but I needed to look up how to do some stuff for the achievements. The free DLC puzzles are a lot harder than the base game, and it also comes with more amazing tracks.

The last Yakuza game I have at 100%. The graphic quality from Kiwami to this one was a huge leap forward. Almost a rtx off vs rtx on moment. I was even surprised you could enter a lot of buildings without going through a loading screen.

The combat got way worse though. It's a pain in ass not being able to do more than 3 hit combos because every enemy just starts blocking everything. I ended up just alternating weapons and heat actions all the time.

Only achievement I had a really hard time with was the one with the

  • On reddit I mostly just upvoted stuff and commented on posts every now and then, but here I'm trying to talk more. Even created a niche community. Coming up with the words to speak about something is difficult, specially as a I'm not an English native speaker, but it's worth it to help lemmy grow

  • I began the series with Yakuza 0 on PC Game Pass. Then after finding out they were coming to steam I decided to continue the journey there. Yakuza as a franchise needs no introduction, if you've watched any gameplay video on YouTube, you know what I'm talking about.

About the game itself I really liked the combat. Tiger dropping enemies in late game never got old lol. But I did not like the race car minigame and mesuking mini game (mesuking's music was a banger though).

The achievements themselves were not too hard to obtain, but some of them required a lot of grinding. Also, the game got me hooked on mahjong. I even ended up downloading Mahjong Soul because of it.

After this one I decided to try to100% the whole series, but I'm going at it really slowly, only recently started Yakuza 3.

Edit: Lost signal when submitting and had to write the post again 🙃

  • [Insert waiting for Silksong clown here lol]

But seriously, this game quickly became one of my all time favorites. Similar to the Dark Souls series, I initially gave up on this game after a few hours, only to pick it back up again a couple years later and absolutely loving it.

To me the best part of the game was the exploration. Not finding out where you are and discovering new areas and enemies, that feeling of relief when you find some singing bug, it was an unforgettable experience.

The combat mechanics are simple, but they can get pretty fun.

Nightmare King Grimm and Sisters of Battle

have become some of my favorite boss fights ever, mostly due to the rhythm and pacing of the battles.

The toughest achievements on this one for me were the Pantheon of Hallownest and the Coliseum of Fools. In the Coliseum, I died a lot in the final trial, particularly in that part with the two walls creating a tight space, no platform, spikes, and a swarm of mosquitos and maybe aspids as well. And the Pantheon... well, it's the Pantheon...

Another game that got me a very similar vibe to HK was Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I played Ori on gamepass, though, so no achievements for me. Maybe some day I'll try to play it again on steam for the 100%.

Anyway, that's it for the 1st showcase here. I'll try to post the ones I currently have every other day. Feel free to comment and post your own achievements too ^^

Is 22 too old to start studying computer science?
  • I started my studies in a related IT degree when I was 22. I earned my degree in 2021 and managed to get a job as a developer last year. I'd say you should go for it

  • Hey everyone! I realized there wasn't yet a dedicated space on Lemmy for achievement hunting. So, I decided to create !steamachievements, even though this is my first time starting a community.

I encourage you all to post about your accomplishments, ask for advice on those tricky achievements, share your journey towards 100% game completion, or offer tips to fellow members.

To kick things off, share an achievement you're proud of or one that's been giving you a hard time!
