Who is Richard Medhurst? And why is google the one at the forefront of safe hardware??

Edit: Because I want to get a new phone, but having Google hardware seems like too much of a cognitive dissonance for me, and I'd prefer sticking to smth Chinese, ideally.

Yeah, and something purposeful, ideally. But that's hard to find, I guess.

I'd love te be able to work on FOSS, or something related. Because I don't want my work to fill the pockets of some execs abroad. But I don't know how feasable that is. Or where to look, even.
