Density saves nature
  • Logic here is broken because we don't make these decisions anyway. A developer will instead put 30 apartment buildings while chopping down anything that gets in the way, then charge more for rent than you'd be charged for the mortgage on the house. There's also the fact that this picture assumes every family on the left pic doesn't give a fuck about free scaping, preserving trees, or planting new ones? Idk, whole thing is jacked.

Openblack is a an attempt to recreate lost god game Black & White in a modern, open source game engine
  • I dream of a day where this series actually gets a remake or full hd remaster. The game was so open ended and you really felt accomplished in everything you did in the game. Whether training your pet, taking over villages, etc. For me the game was the first of its kind where your actions actively showed so it was really awesome to see your hand becoming more glowey or scarred. Same with your pet. Then there was your conscious guys good/evil which were a riot as well. Overall just a great game. Good memories.

Scientists make breakthrough discovery with the power to permanently change plastic pollution: 'Transforming ... pollutants into valuable, reusable chemicals'
  • Right. But we need to at least hold companies accountable and get them moving in the right direction. Currently they don't give a shit. Single use plastics are ridiculous right now, at least in the US. Unnecessary and can easily be replaced or simply not used.

  • How about just find a way to properly dispose of it and move on to something better / more reusable? Plastics are bad on several levels, the most horrifying in recent memory being micro plastics literally invading every part of our bodies.

Wait how long has Bort been outside?
  • Serious question: Who is Bort? Is it just a fun misspelling? I've heard it over at least a decade and at first thought it was a Simpsons ref but now I'm seeing it in ref to Sesame Street? Idk.

Official trailer for new Christmas themed Terrifier 3
  • Can someone who likes this series explain the draw to me? I'm a pretty avid horror fan but turned this off after 30 minutes because I just didn't get it. Slasher, sure, but seemed way too simplistic with no real plot and overly exaggerated shitty kill scenes. Not that I sign up for every horror movie for immersive plot or something, it just seemed entirely nonexistent.

Microsoft is bringing annoying Windows 11 Start menu ads to Windows 10
  • Appreciate the time taken to type a response. Did you follow any videos or guides of any sort? It's been a loooong time since I've setup dual boot on a system and I'm wondering if complexity has been simplified at all.

Taking a shower every day is excessive.
  • Nice to know there are others out there like myself. I'm not this far in the extreme, but I very obviously have northern genetics and I live in the humid South. I abhor summer and dream of winter. I just want to live somewhere where I don't become dehydrated from less than 30 minutes of effort outside.

  • Learning Linux gets more tempting every day. Either that or government needs to pass laws against shit like this but I doubt that will ever happen.
