Here’s the relevant thread:
From what I’ve heard, at least. I know there’s unfortunately quite a lot of loli stuff based on the defederation lists I’ve seen. I’m happy to report that I’ve never had to see either here first-hand.
I’m considering migrating away from Lemmy.world on account of downtime and the recent blocking of piracy communities. However, I am quite fond of Lemmy.world’s other choices in defederation, e.g. nazi nonsense and CSAM.
Is there an easy method of comparing these blockings between instances to better choose where to migrate to?
True and fair. Definitely agree with your third-party app thing (man, where have I seen the benefits of having third party apps before?)
I do remember trying out a (TOS breaking) third party app I found on GitHub, but it lacked a lot of features like voice calls and whatnot and crashed frequently. That’s to be expected, though.
It sounds more like Lemmy was a bad idea for you specifically, lol
Sounds like the hardcore nerds are thriving.
Discord moment
“Hmm, we need to make a communications app. Communicating is important, it’ll keep millions of people in contact with eachother. We’ll have to make it as lightweight as possible.”
“OH! I KNOW! ELECTRON!!”
Let’s say I construct an apple orchard with harvesters that run on batteries. The batteries send power to the machines when they are inserted into them, and the harvesters use the battery power to harvest 100g apples. If I weigh the battery before putting it in a machine, and the battery weighs 1,000g, would that be fucked up, or what?
Can’t wait for someone to run an instance on a homebrewed DS and see people asking why “lemmy.ds is down all the time??”
Try breaking both of your arms, I’ve heard that works.
You can actually still play DS games with proper scaling on 3DS-like systems by holding start and select while the game is booting up. Helps a lot, as I don’t like the upscaling at all.
Worked for me too, thanks!
Good question! We get asked this a lot. Hope this helps!
Gotcha. I’ll carve off the edges of my steak, freeze dry those, and use meat glue to reattach them to the main, non-dried steak after.
Understood: I will freeze dry all meat before cooking it to remove all moisture.
