Godot just added a Unity-like game editor to debug the game while it's running!
  • First I got an older book for 3.6, I thought maybe following a book is what it takes for me. Then, following this book, I could get my claws in development for longer then 2 hours, and spoke to more folks around me about my project and ambitions, and someone recommended a couple Udemy courses. Found one I liked (Firebelley Games dev), and that got me developing and learning a lot more efficiently. It's still an insane time investment so for me that means I need at least a weekly schedule or I'll just let it go and do the things that give me more instant gratification instead.

Context: I did about 6 months of programming courses in high school and already knew I could grasp the idea of it. It was really just starting up and then really keeping it up.

  • Same dude(tte), Also loved it when someone showed me the holy path that is the debugger, learning to use it effectively is shaving off a lot of bug hunting time. Time is money, money is power, power is pizza, less bugs more feature creep!

At least i have pretty butterflies at night now!

What are your best tips for falling asleep?
  • I heard the US military swears by a bodyscan meditation exercise. That works for me, or at the very least calms me way down. Sometimes I'll try and take a short walk through the night, because I love it, but thinking about leaving the bed an getting ready for outside makes me very sleepy :) . Good luck falling asleep, unwanted awakeness is super boring and gets old really quick.

YSK that there's a better index than the BMI to measure obesity called the Body Roundness Index
  • How round one wants to be is easily influenced by external factors like culture, though. I think slim bodies look sleek and beautiful, but it's probably healthier to have a bit of fat in the right places (for times when your digestive system is on the fritz)

I like the effort for a body weight stat being more complete or useful for individuals, but my efforts measuring BRI came up kind of wack too :(. We decided it judged me too thin.

Is Lemmy an effective alternative to Reddit?
  • Everyone's experiences will be different. There is hate everywhere, and here too. It doesn't feel worse to me then anywhere else, so that's already pretty great in my book.

Hey, I found this 'port' or 'socket' in my glove compartment. I checked the manual and parts list, but could not figure out what this should do. Fingers crossed that is a bulbsocket! Anyone know what this is??

I bought those fries in the store and sprinkled some fajita style herbs and spices over them. It was a great burger.
