  • I think being somewhat transparent is the point. You want them agreeing untilnthey get to the end and say "oh", and feel angry/annoyed by the satire, but deep down you're sowing doubts that maybe this does all make sense and that you should investigate it more and get educated.

  • Yea this is so stupid. This is not a sport. We're talking about human lives. As with everything in life, I'm pro-whatever brings the greatest good. I want both Israelis and Palestinians to live a good life, in dignity.

I always refer to my position as "against the genocide".

  • I could understand if 1 was the public position while 2 was the one you speak only among like-minded folk. Then 1 serves as something that makes nazism and other far right ideologies more palatable. Is it the case for Nick Fuentes? I don't know enough about him.

  • I spend a lot of time on Lemmy and am only vaguely aware of trans culture. I don't expect a random regular person to even know there's an online trans culture, much less identify signs of it.

  • I was surprised to see no fortifications as native american villages much smaller in my region had fortfications. I've just read the Wikipedia article and it says fortifications have been found.

    Its population was huge:

Thus the population are also far larger than before thought with conservative estimations at 12,000, a probable average of 29,000 inhabitants but with the possibility of 46,000 inhabitants.

    The Cucuteni–Trypillia culture:

The 'mega-sites' of the culture, which have been claimed to be early forms of cities, were the largest settlements in Eurasia, and possibly the world, dating to the 5th millennium BC.

The population of the culture at its peak may have reached or exceeded one million people.

Something I found odd too was the lack of fields in the illustration, though maybe they just are outside the frame. Of course, the Cucuteni-Trypillia people grew plants:

They cultivated club wheat, oats, rye, proso millet, barley and hemp, which were probably ground and baked as unleavened bread in clay ovens or on heated stones in the home. They also grew peas and beans, apricotcherry plum and wine grapes – though there is no solid evidence that they actually made wine.

  • Seriously, I don't preach veganism to anyone around me. When people ask why I'm vegan, I answer, straight to the point. If they ask more questions, I just continue answering their questions.

I know at least of 2 people I have known personally who became vegan later. I never preached to them.

I'm not aware of anyone who switched to Linux or an ergonomic keyboard layout though, so results may vary.
