How to set timezone without disabling ResistFingerprinting
  • Thanks! I successfully modified your script to adjust for my local timezone. Definitely seems to work on your example webbrowsertools site, though I still can't seem to make AWS happy. no idea where they're pulling their timezone data from, but it always shows me UTC no matter what (and yes, I followed your @match examples adjusting for amazon - the script triggers, just doesn't fix the time displayed for instance monitoring the way I want).

anyway, thanks for sharing your script. I love it! I'll keep playing around to see if I can figure what AWS actually uses to determine "local timezone".

How to set timezone without disabling ResistFingerprinting
  • Any chance you could share your script? I've tried a few browser extensions to solve this but they never seem to work on the sites where I actually need them. Your approach sounds way better!

Walmart seems to ONLY have a “technical issue” when it comes to requesting a refund. All other areas of the website work perfectly fine!
  • If you have a Walmart card, there's a similar annoyance with the Capital One app on my phone. The screen to pay your bill scrolls up and down just fine, so you can scroll down to pay. The screen to redeem your collected points for cash back? Yeah, no. The screen doesn't scroll, so I can't get far enough down to swipe the submit widget.

Debian 12 on Macbook Pro 2012
  • I'm running kubuntu on your same 2012 MBP. Runs great, but I've considered going pure Debian too, maybe still with KDE Plasma. You look happy; cool background!

I think the universe is trying to tell me something about my e string bends
  • Buddy of mine from way back in the day was a bend master. If he didn't break the high E string on at least one guitar at a show, he wasn't playing his best.

    Alexandria - FOSS Cross-Platform E-Book Reader
  • Well done!

Just a heads up though, there's an existing server/client app combo also named Alexandria commonly used in public schools and libraries (in the US anyway). It's more of a book inventory and check-out system, but the shared name for a related app could still cause some confusion, and might prevent schools and libraries from utilizing your helpful tool.

Just thought you should know. Your efforts deserve to stand on their own!

[Question] What are your computers named?
  • I started using star names a long time ago and never had a reason to change (night sky - not Hollywood, though those are good choices too).
