They're trying their best
  • Omg there was a teacher at my school that would make songs that were just some super basic beat and him conjugating verbs, with a little bit of echo. Then he'd play them during class while looking at the students.

Crossing against the light? You won’t get ticketed now that jaywalking is legal in NYC
  • Absolutely wild that crossing the street where there's no crosswalk was ever illegal. It's hard to wrap your head around how impossible walking is in some places.

  • I've tried cowashing before! I have a lot of hair, but thin individual strands, and it kinda made it too hydrated (idk how else to explain) so I lost my waves.

    Mexican Pizza from Taco Bell
  • Wild guess here, but if it's from antidepressants, like it is for me, you can be prescribed a second antidepressant at a dose too low to help depression, but high enough to get the side effect: heightened appetite. It's not a miracle fix, but it helps me eat more.

Has anybody ever made it extremely obvious to you that you're neurodivergent?
  • Reminds me of one of mine. In the middle of my lesson, my instrument teacher paused to ask me some questions: can you tie your shoes without looking? Do you have trouble unlocking your door in the dark? Etc. Turns out I have little to no muscle memory lol.

  • Im not in the US but I've heard many people argue that joining the military (beyond mandatory service) makes you right wing. My country's military doesn't even leave the country.

    Trying on a new perspective
  • Some of us can only dream of that, because we have unrelated health issues that prevent us from exercising, and a shitton of other stuff. All we can do is hope that this isn't the healthiest well ever be, because that thought is fucking depressing.

    Honey
  • I didn't want to go into it in the original comment, but yes. It is a relevant debate whether it's vegan to swallow another humans semen, or even saliva. And yes, it is, if the human consents. Consent is the more or less the basis of whether vegans find it moral to consume something. Humans can give consent to sharing their fluids. Other animals cannot.

    Honey
  • Bees make honey for their hive. Honey also does indeed contain bodily fluids from the bees.

The bread making human consents to you taking the bread (presumably). Breast milk and other human bodily fluids can be vegan for the same reason.

And insects pollinate plants not because they use the fruit, but for the nectar. They don't care what happens after they leave the flower.

What would be a solution to the ever increasing delivery industry?
  • Try to order pickup, if you can go by the restaurant on foot/bike/public transit and physically/mentally can. Not just because of traffic reduction, but also because those delivery apps are usually super predatory and get away with paying sub minimum wage through some legal gaps.

If deliveries by car can be a small part in making it possible and comfortable for some individual to forgo owning a personal car, it's still a net plus. A major chunk of the environmental damage a car does is in its production. Taxis are better than individual cars for the same reason. Also, they're usually not delivering only one meal at a time, like you would if you drove there yourself.

Is it possible to learn this power?
  • Almost all of them have to work to live somewhat comfortably. They also have to do their own housework and childcare in addition to paid labour, which rich people do not. Both of those, especially in combination, are stressful. Stress ages you.

Once you get to a certain amount of wealth, you never have to do labour again, paid or otherwise, unless you want to.

Not to mention that they can't afford dieticians, personal trainers, aestheticians, etc., as the rich do.

  • I apologize for how negative that sounds! It's been 3 months. I unfortunately can't be as consistent as I'd like because of chronic utis. I currently go about 8-10 km/h for 20 mins at a time, 2-3 times a week when I'm healthy. I keep at it because I've noticed a boost in my general energy and mood, but I hate pretty much every second of actually running. I read that that's normal as you start out, especially if you start from zero like I did. But I've also read you eventually start to tolerate and then later enjoy it. How long did it take for you to get to that point?
