I've searched the internet a bit, but couldn't find what I was looking for.
I saw Leon, but it doesn't have an android client, for example.
Is there good assistances, that you can self host and use on your phone? and that can perform actions like make a phone call, play music, send WhatsApp etc?
I'm not a big user of these, but recently I used Google Assistant and found it was very convenient in my case. So ofc I wanted the benefit without all the spying.
Would ideally look for something that I can self host on my VPS (oracle cloud) and run a client on Android.
thanks!
I second that. in reddit you can find in any other post people (and other bots) claiming it is a bot karma farming and whatnot.

I got a stroke trying to read it.
had to be evacuated to hospital...
I'm with you at texting late. tho I learned people don't silence their phones at night and it may wake them, so I learned to avoid that
I was not awake as a proper human
I like this phrase
I used to do these things unconsciously. I'd read the message from the notification, and reply some time later on. So you're not the only one.
But now I notice when I'm about to do it, and instead just reply when I can. If it just arrived I'll reply now.
Only cases nowadays is when a reply requires thought and space of mind for me to reply. so I read the message and remind myself later to re read and reply.
As other mentioned before, I don't see a point in hiding the fact that I was using my phone at this second. There's nothing wrong or shameful about it. Sometimes you're more available, sometimes less. If the other side is busy they'll just reply when they can. you don't need to hold for them.
I agree with what you're saying. if you just happen to be on the phone when someone texts, there's no problem in answering immediately.
I don't think anyone is "desperate" is they reply quick. I just think they replied quick.
If I think they're busy and don't wanna interrupt, then they'll just read the message at their own time. Don't see any reason to play these games.
then I'll let you know when I deploy it. didn't do it yet, might do it today, maybe later.
well if the bombs are located inside Germany it's not all that simple
I agree. many times I see communities that the only activity is link posting. not even comments.
this looks very good I'll try this at home
No, but I have free instance on Oracle Cloud and that's where I'll run it. If it's too slow or no good I'll stop using it but there's no harm trying.
thanks. I'll give it a try
that's so true! tho sometimes it can be interpretated as them laughing off at my mistakes.
Hi all, I'd like to hear some suggestions on self hosting LLMs on a remote server, and accessing said LLM via a client app or a convenient website. Either hear about your setups or products you got good impression on.
I've hosted Ollama before but I don't think it's intented for remote use. On the other hand I'm not really an expert and maybe there's other things to do like add-ons.
Thanks in advance!
it's soooo annoying!
it's actually a good idea. I once saw a store with many "for left handed" products. But most of them aren't really necessary because you just get used to the regular ones.
Yes but good luck with scissors 😭😭😭 I fucking hate that thing
God this is so good
Hey,
I'm looking for suggestions on how to efficiently transfer content to my Oracle Cloud VPS.
What I've Tried:
Telegram Bot: I set up a Telegram bot that saves files locally on the server.
Pros: Easy to use, quick access to files from Telegram.
Cons: Limited to what's available on Telegram, and uploading is slow and impractical.
aria2c: I attempted to use aria2c but couldn't get it to work properly. Is it possible that Oracle Cloud is blocking P2P communication like torrents?
What I Need:
A more convenient method to transfer content to my VPS. I haven't been able to get torrents to work, so any alternative solutions would be appreciated. Additionally, if you know of any direct download sites for content like movies and shows that don't use P2P, that would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: while there are plenty of ways to get stuff from my computer to the VPS (and I'll try some of them), I thought to get things directly to the VPS. it has fast and stable internet connection, unlike my laptop.
So I'm using a lot the option to chat myself in apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. But I don't wanna put my trust in them.
I tried about using NextCloud (I have an instance) Talk, but I'm not satisfied: the app won't load if I have no internet connection.
What I am actually looking for:
- something with cross client sync that sync is ideally on my server
- simple to use like sending message to self but with good search options, maybe even tagging
- ability to send images, files etc
- caches offline on clients
thanks.
P.S. wasn't really sure what tag to use here. Help seems like I'd use when I have an issue with an existing project. but I'm looking for a new one so I used this.
thanks!
