That is discussed in the article:
The Discovery Channel series “MythBusters” featured episodes in 2004, 2006 and 2010 testing out scenarios for the purported death ray but ultimately declared the legend to be a myth when each test failed to light a wooden boat on fire. In 2005, a class of students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, inspired by the show’s first episode, was able to ignite a wooden boat once with a similar technique to Sener’s on a larger scale, but failed on a second attempt.
Sener said he believes that combining MIT’s findings with his own, the data could suggest the death ray was plausible, and Archimedes likely could have used the sun’s rays with large mirrors to cause combustion. But the technology may not work in cold temperatures or cloudy weather, and the sea’s impact on the ships’ motion affects the practicality of this device, he added in his paper.
We're in that interim period where people don't understand the technology at all but still think it's capable of anything, so even people who absolutely should know better are going to be misusing it.
Yes, I'm just offering an option to replicate that streaming functionality here. As to versatility, that depends entirely on what you're doing. There are situations in which the Steamdeck would actually be the far more limited platform compared to what I described.
If you're just wanting the functionality of a Steamdeck on some other device, there are a variety of ways to accomplish that. If the other device is an Android, you can just install the Steam Link app and you're off to the races. If it's something else, depending on the device you can probably get Moonlight running on it, which will accomplish the same thing but will actually have more versatility than you'd get with a Steamdeck anyway.
Best thing to do is use an external monitor. You can connect the phone via whatever USB interface it has - there are cheap USB to HDMI adapters on Amazon which should do the trick.

Cool, always glad to see another user who makes an effort to submit content - I'm glad you're doing the same. I took issue with your title for this post, and I think I expressed that adequately here. Take care.
Yeah, it's definitely clear that you don't enjoy the MCU. I don't think anyone has an issue with you feeling that way. What I don't like to see is when content is misrepresented in titles when posted, it degrades the quality of the platform as a whole and encourages reactions which aren't based on the actual content.
Did you read the article? "MCU" appears nowhere in it and Sony is mentioned 10+ times. This has nothing to do with the MCU whatsoever.
I, personally, have been blocking the users submitting the spam. This isn't a good solution, but it does clear my feed out and make it so that I forget the spam is there until I see another user I need to block.
The other thing I have been doing is submitting content to my favorite magazines - if we actively engage the mags, we can force the spam down.

At the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a wildlife preserve in central Kenya, lions and cheetahs mingle with zebras and elephants across many miles of savannah – grasslands with "whistling thorn" acacia trees dotting the landscape here and there. Twenty years ago, the savanna was littered with them. Then came invasive big-headed ants that killed native ants — and left the acacia trees vulnerable.

Anyone here have a Linux phone? I'm super curious about the experience, if so.
'Star Wars: Mace Windu' issue #1 from Marvel features the stoic character on a thrilling chase before 'The Phantom Menace.'
Anybody read the Star Wars comics? I love them.
"For a long time, the number of rats in New York City was unknown, and a common urban legend declared there were up to five times as many rats as people. However, a 2023 study estimates that there are approximately 3 million rats in New York, which is close to a third of New York's human population"
It's such a good book. I hope the series lives up.

It really is shocking that they could somehow get more mainstream
I agree that this may be the only real solution for the time being. I have personally been trying to submit good content to my favorite magazines to combat some of the spam, but there is a real influx of it and it's making it difficult to use the site.

In 1981, Wes Craven needed a hit. He'd ultimately find inspiration from an unlikely source: a string of bizarre, sleep-related deaths.

Yep, there was a time when streaming services actually became easier than piracy. That was when there was basically just Netflix and Hulu. If you had both of those, you had everything.
Yes, I agree with this. I've thought about this before, and Star Wars doesn't really qualify as "Science Fiction", because we never learn about the science of anything. It's just there - part of the scenery. That's the fantasy aspect; we're not thinking about realism or how things work, we are just fantasizing about a cool futuristic space setting with space magic and swords with blades made of light.
My favorite part of that episode is right after Picard gets there and finds out what's going on. He takes one look at the ghost and is just like "Come on Beverly, we're getting out of here."
Even he was like, fuck this shit I'm out.
Joel's head is starting to hurt already
I just played this through again recently. Doesn't need a remake, but I wouldn't mind a nice HD texture redo.
