  • Trump really was inspired by Hitler in every way, in a very unironic fashion.

  • I could swear that they came with new monitors which is standard.

New video cards should come with any extra peripherals needed to make it work with said monitor or whatever features that was advertised.

  • Linux does not do 100% of the things I can readily do on Windows.

I would know, I've been on and off Linux for many years. My first introduction of using Linux was Ubuntu Dapper Drake in 2006. I've tried Kubuntu. I've tried Xubuntu. I've tried Crunchbang Linux (which ended up being my favorite distro of them all). I've tried Mint. I've tried Puppy Linux. I've tried Bhodi Linux.

And while Linux has grown quite considerably and more user-friendly since those days, it still does not do everything I can do in Windows. There are tools I have, that work better or just only work on Windows. There are games I play, that some of them will only work on Windows. There are just things with Linux that I do not have the patience for, like figuring out repositories from depositories, having to manually update through terminal, having to make sure everything that I could use that is cross-platform and compatible with Linux is working. Having to make sure there's enough documentation out there of a piece of software for Linux that can be used.

I am simply just not the kind of user Linux would ask of me and I'm not going to go full on Linux just for cheap brownie points at the expense of my time and patience. Microsoft still has not once gotten a dime from me over the years to pay for a full OS of theirs, that OS will continue to be pirated from me and I will always buy a computer second hand that will have the latest Windows OS. That is pretty much that.

The only times Linux is ever in use from me is when I put it on a laptop and that's it. It is never coming close to my main desktop use.

  • I wouldn't think so, because data speed is a set standard that is applicable to all phones.

What does matter is whether or not a phone can support all or the bands you need.

  • I wish she would for the restoration of integrity and democracy of Congress.

  • I think you miss the point also that it's been years that people have probably known the guy and his antics, so it's easy for them to write him off. I think it is ignorant of you to pretend that kind of plausibility doesn't exist.

Mind as well say "gee, why don't everybody sit and listen and watch everything Donald Trump does? I don't get it!"

Why the hell would people want to waste the time?

  • I am a proponent for someone to really express what they want to say even if some people think it is politically incorrect to say so. While advocating against the rights of transgenders will always be a wrong stance to take and a wrong belief to believe in because they do deserve their rights.

But I do think going all-out to protect them from opinions they may not like is an overreaching form of censorship and I have seen that practiced on Reddit way too many times up until my final real banning on there. (Meaning, the last time I ever got to interact on Reddit that isn't shot down to shadow-banning like it is now today, for me)

I think you should have opinions on them shy from outright calling violence to them or saying they don't deserve a right to live. For example, I truly believe that Transgenders have too much of a stranglehold of the spotlight that it has threatened even the fabric of unity of the LGBTQIA+. I'm not kidding, they have just been hogging the attention for years and it almost feels like the community is strictly just them and no one else, coming from someone who is non-binary and bisexual.

And this has caused some level of unease in said community where it feels like we have to pledge some separate level of devotion to transgenders or we're seen as bigoted, despite the fact that simply just pledging support and upholding values and identifying with the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole simply isn't enough which I think it SHOULD be enough.

So it seems like everywhere, especially Reddit, you will be shredded down in seconds if you have a single thing to say against transgenders, even if that opinion doesn't call for the mass execution of them and I think it is outright ridiculous. It is one thing for a Transgender instance or community to bar any opinions against them because it is their rules, than it is for everywhere else barring it just because and I feel it is a cheap way to gain favor with them.

  • It is hard to say because there was a time when Lemmy users even got penalized for celebrating what Luigi did.

And it was a very dumb period. Because I don't see how "I'm glad that piece of shit CEO got what was coming to him" somehow constituted glorifying violence.

It's such a stupid stance to have and still is, because it is just people grasping for straws as to who is the most moralistic. Come on now, even they behind their keyboards probably celebrated it too.

  • And by "domestic terrorists" he means LGBTQIA+ people and those who disagree with him at this point.

  • I know this guy's track record and he needs to show a ton of receipts than just words. He needs to make some big steps in owing up to his mistakes. He's shown time and time again that he'll speak words and never do the thing that's infront of his face that he needs to do. Not gonna sit and listen for 45 minutes of it. Actions speak louder.

  • No.

Here's my reasoning. For example, when pedophiles are caught online, they have their internet access revoked as part of the punishment to their crimes. If you feel that accessing computers and the internet should be a basic right, you are saying that this pedophile's 'right' to use a computer and the internet is infringed, despite doing a considerably awful thing.

And that's something I just cannot simply get behind.

Furthermore, the internet has been contested numerous times and moreso than ever, about the legitimacy of the information on it. We've been going through a few awful periods where right now, information is being fixed and rigged to favor certain political ideologies, pseudoscience and outright bias. I have always been told that everything that is on the internet should always be taken with a grain of salt. I would rather we have a right to a library than we have a right to information on the internet.

If everyone is complaining so much about the 'damages' of social media, what would making the internet be branded a 'right' improve? Great, you have to the right now, to be lied to and misinformed. Good on ya!

  • Uh, no? That's what got us Trump the first time and that's what got us him AGAIN.

  • It's just safe to assume nearly any rich millionaire or billionaire is in the files. Musk, was a given. The sissy slapfight between a self-righteous zealot and a convicted fascist resumes.

  • You've just stated what the article was about - there are so many games coming out. Whether it is about them making even, breaking even or not is just a mention. The core thing is that there are too many games.

Go argue with a freaking wall, for christ sake. Why do you even post? Get a life.

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Does anyone know how pointless it is to get all boiled up over things that shouldn't matter to you?

  • But I don't see how it is a problem. Because the article or whomever wrote it, is basically asking the industry "hey, take a break, stop producing things." Which, you mind as well ask every other industry and it'll more ridiculous per request.

"Hey Authors, please stop writing things, I need to catch up on my library!"

"Hey movie directors, please stop making films, I need to watch my library!"

"Hey TV Networks, I need to catch up on this series!"

See how dumb that all sounds?

  • So, I'm not reading that blob of incoherent text.

Sure you're not confusing this instance for EdgyTakes?

  • Sorry, not sorry, blocking radicals. You're just energy vampires.

  • So? It's your own fault, just as it was mine, for compulsively buying games you're not going to play ever. There's still going to be games being released after you die, so, why worry too much about the volume of games?

  • I don't care for TikTok, whatever shakes them up and dismantles their foundation. TikTok is just a degradation to society, regardless who has it.

What are subscriptions that are worth it and subscriptions that are not?

    No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

Why do the epstein files matter so much?

    Mildly Infuriating @lemmy.world

When sites and services don't have the common courtesy to redirect you to where you've been when nagging for verification

    Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Why do people ask you for sources of information when they're the same people who disregard truth and facts?
