  • Because whether you like it or not, social media is the easy-track to connect with people of all varying degrees and connect through common interests and even ideals. It's a lot easier than in the 2000s and 1990s when all you've had was an e-mail and probably chat room hopping. You just had to know someone else's e-mail like you would have to know someone's number to call them, that's how it worked.

With social media, you can just breeze through friend lists and comb over searches to find friends and everything far easier. It's easier to connect with people that way than ever before. And losing out on that, can sting.

I sometimes wished it wasn't that way, but the people have largely decided we needed something more than just writing e-mails to eachother.

  • Deleting your posts was a waste of time. Chances are likely that it is archived on their end.

Reddit has been paying close attention to behavior patterns of banned users and users they wouldn't want on their platform. It's likely they've gotten your posting imprint and just give you the comfort of thinking you've deleted your posts.

  • And when given 4 years to try and find a replacement, they spent it all stammering themselves and ultimately couldn't find one.

And this shit is going to be no more different. If Trump is going to expect people to pay 100k for visas, he's going to expect Americans to pay 50k for a shot of insulin or 300 for acetaminophen. Something.

  • I state again - remake your case next year. If you can campaign rightly and focus on the ISSUES and what MATTERS instead of wasting your time bashing Trump because that has gone on soooo well last year. Then make it.

But if you're gonna just pummel Trump then waste your time, continue draining what little faith people have in your camp.

  • No, it never started out as a joke. It came up during a time when conspiracy theories have gone very wild and very political. It was the precursor to QAnon bullshit.

  • Um, I have done so successfully?

  • Don't assume I'm one of those people. I only threw down a dollar just to get three months of SiriusXM and I only listen to comedy on it. I have an IPod Touch with music and car manufacturer's suck dick on complicating the idea of plugging in IPod devices and letting them work as normal. No, we're suddenly required to have ApplePlay or Android Auto.

  • Cruz just irrevocably set himself up for the rest of his life, because now people are going to tie him to this sound clip.

And conspiracy nutjobs think this guy is the zodiac killer?

  • We'll see if they have one next year.

  • The tariffs aren't working in the way this idiot thinks they are, least to the desired effect because he's a braindead fuck. Countries are realizing workarounds so that they don't have to strictly abide by America's tariffs and whatever they feel they don't need from America or ship to America, they can and will live without.

The tariffs are hurting Americans more than anyone else. Dumbass.

  • What did Israel say earlier about wanting to end the war as soon as possible? This is not how you do it.

  • But will something be done about it?

NOooOoOoOoOoo. As long as it is still the new shiny toy for techbros and executive-bros to tinker with, it'll continue.

  • Distributing as in being paid as in paycheck as in you getting money into bank account for the hours you've worked. Fucking duh.

  • It's actually pretty cool, I remembered something very similar to this but it was from AVGN. It was uploaded, but taken down, of him showcasing the degrading video quality of a VHS, it was exactly something like this. It might've been a home video he did, where he or someone is punching another person while jogging down the street and everytime it played, the quality went down.

  • I think you're on to something here. I have had noticed that in some channels I've watched where it seems like their room is way too perfect? Probably not the right word, but it's off-setting to see how their environment is orchestrated. Like it's the in-thing to do, so that is their way, a way of conformity. Then when that in-thing is no longer that thing, out with that environment into something else that's trendy.

I would hate myself a lot if I was making videos and had to orbit my life around what a manufacturer, marketer, advertiser .etc wants to see me project.

  • Disown the Pirate Bay, it has long lost it's usage once the old owners left.

It is only just a symbol now.

You're better off doing research and listening to better-advised voices in this community.

    What is your internet White-Whale?

  • People from Second Life, lol. Man when you get a bunch of going-no-where people on that platform riled up, they really burn their fingers dialing in the keys as to what they can threaten you with. Double the hilarity when they get on mic to scream at you as the feed is broken up because they shout too loud or their microphone is garbage.

And it doesn't have to be over a particular reason because it is just over anything, it's just people trying to sound tough online.

  • Don't you ever fucking call me Frank! (not my IRL name but the idea)

  • Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

What does it take for you to determine someone has low intelligence?

  • With AOL's exit from dial-up, we are now down to three dial-up ISPs; NetZero, Juno and DSLExtreme.

  • Technology @lemmy.world

With a final screech, AOL's dial-up service goes silent

What crooked practices or policies are you waiting to see happen?

    Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Does anyone know how pointless it is to get all boiled up over things that shouldn't matter to you?

Social Media is Amazing, but the People using it usually aren't

    Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What are subscriptions that are worth it and subscriptions that are not?

    No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

Why do the epstein files matter so much?

    Mildly Infuriating @lemmy.world

When sites and services don't have the common courtesy to redirect you to where you've been when nagging for verification

    Asklemmy @lemmy.ml

Why do people ask you for sources of information when they're the same people who disregard truth and facts?
