What food do you want to try and never had a chance to try it?
  • Jackfruit, durian(I want to know if it's as bad as everyone says) and lion's mane mushroom (I had it once but it's so hard to find here). Also I saw a Ugandan recipe for plantain stew, subbed them with green unripe bananas but it's probably not the same. Oh and Ethiopian injera!

  • This little bugger has been hanging around my SO's workplace. She's absolutely attached to us and would show her belly every time we try to pet her. And it's not a trap! She loves belly rubs.

Now we wanted to adopt her for a while and have been taking care of her, vet visits, vaccines and all. We really want to have her in the house but we already have a cat (who'd love some company) but house rules allow for just one.

We also have a yard which is cat-friendly with shelter, places to sleep in, climb and scratch, and not directly on the street.

We know she's used to her environment and our worries are that she'll run away and try to go back to her old place, which is right on the street where her sister perished by a car at an intersection.

How can we go about this?

    Are skincare routines worth it?
  • I do the bare minimum. Avoid touching my face (and fail while bored at work so I always get pimples where I use my hand to prop my head on the desk), wash it once or twice a day and **make sure to use sunscreen of SPF30 or more, 50+ preferably when going outside. ** Really if you hydrate well and your skin has no issues, best you can do is protect the status quo. UV radiation is what speeds up skin aging, not to mention the other issues it can cause. Moisturizers are also a good idea, especially during winter (assuming you live in a temperate area). I personally don't bother with them mainly because I forget.

Just had a sheetmask and enjoyed it but I have no idea where to start generally in terms of it.

They're always a treat. I dislike them for personal reasons but I see them as a treat, they can get really pricey if you use them daily 😅. Start small and don't look at the popular influencers using a ton of products on their face. Listen to your skin and recognise when you actually need to use certain products.

    yet another Beehaw introduction thread
  • Hi, I hate glitter and my name is not Lance. I do cross stitching and play the occasional video game. I also like books, cross stitching has enabled me to listen to audio books. I like sci-fi and adventure/mystery but I read romance novels too from time to time.

Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of July 16th
  • Binding of Isaac Repentance is my main game at the moment. I'm also trying to squeeze some Need for Speed Underground 2 on the PS2. Gaming is no longer my primary hobby so it's no more than an hour or two per day. Still, looking forward to the other NFS titles on the PS2. I might try to finish the first Underground and go for 100% on both before moving on.

Haha whoops, forgot to refill my meds
  • "only (es)citalopram" withdrawal made me feel like I have a 9 volt in my brain zapping me every time I move my eyes. And that was during controlled tapering. It took me 6 months proper for them to go away. Now on my third month of tapering Trazodone which worked well for me with very little side effects but I feel ready to face the world with as little medication as possible. Funny thing, Trazodone doesn't give the brain zaps but the withdrawal headaches rival migraines. Going from 150mg to 75 was a piece of cake. Going from 75 to 50 made me question if I should really do this. Now alternating between 25 and 12.5 every other day, things are looking much better.

I also have a cabinet full of different antipsychotics and antidepressants. These lil buggers saved my life in more ways than one. Bipolar sucks but I'm glad to be in remission for now!
