If this is the reason, it's very disappointing. They designed the mouse; they can make it smart enough to stop charging itself while still plugged in... Or is it because they want THEIR mouse on your desk to look 'clean' as often as possible?
I use a wireless Logitech mouse daily for work.
I have a mental disorder. I can easily forget to bring a cable with me so the battery will get much lower than the 10% low battery threshold. I can then KEEP FORGETTING to charge it. When I'm finally with a cable, it's nice to be able to use it plugged in.
I think this whole situation shouldn't be a WHY question, but a WHY NOT?
Do they need a reason?
So I'm curious; why no headphones? When I listen to music from a speaker in open space, half of the sound is basically gone. My headphones are ~10x (not exaggerating) better than anything played at 'mild inconvenience' levels in public. I can also play it at an ear-safe volume because of ANC. Yes, they can start to hurt due to the arms on my glasses but that's after 5-7 hours in a day.
Thanks for the info. I'll give endeavor at shot.
I was JUST about to try out Manjaro. Are these 'other issues' a new thing or are you saying that because Manjaro is more of a departure from arch than endeavor is?
This reminds me of an excellent short story over on r/writingprompts. It's about how humans evolved in the harshest conditions as a forgotten experiment. They emerge and are basically gods.
This may be symptomatic of the issue being addressed. Would we be more willing to get the phone repaired if we felt more ownership of it? My hands are tied if the device was designed without repeatability in mind and the manufacturer has no intention of volunteering assistance - so I must complain. In our current system, we don't have many options to choose from. I look forward to your thoughts.
Also I believe 'bricked' is a result of it becoming inoperable. Our devices aren't easily repaired so they will become 'bricked' SOONER than if designed to run unlocked boot systems and OS's. Feeling more ownership of your device may lead you to be more careful with it and only entrust it with reputable technicians.
I miss my Civic EG Hatch. Best car I ever owned. For years I've looked for conversion kits to make my own EV out of an old rolling chassis.
