JetBlue makes you watch an ad to connect to wifi
  • Definitely worth a bit of research to see if it’s feasible (or potentially just set up wireguard for those cases). Thanks!

Why Your iPhone Can't Power An Apple Vision Headset
  • What if you just slot the iPhone directly into the headset and the cooling/battery enhancement is done from there?

In fact, the iPhone has a screen too. Why not just split that in half for each eye… or have I just invented Google cardboard?

  • www.theguardian.com Six UK airports temporarily reintroduce 100ml liquid limit

Restriction brought back to make improvements to checkpoint systems, according to Department for Transport

Well this is all very sudden and mysterious. Presumably there’s something specific behind it but not clear what that might be.

This role feels typical of so many infrastructure projects lately. Set a deadline, miss it, set another one, miss that too, get it in place in some limited form, oops that was a mistake.

‘Furiosa’ Up In Smoke With $31M-$33M, Lowest Memorial Day Opening In Decades, Might Get Clawed By ‘Garfield’: How Worried Should Hollywood Be About Theatrical?
  • Just went and saw it. It’s fine. An antidote to the usual marvel nonsense, but it’s just not in the same league as fury road. The green screen is a real problem though. Some of the shots look almost incomplete, like they’re placeholders for the real ones.

Do we have someone on our side in the committee? O.o (StopKillingGames UK petition)
  • The Petitions Committee (the group of MPs who oversee the petitions system) has considered the Government’s response to this petition. They felt the response did not respond directly to the request of the petition. They have therefore asked the Government to provide a revised response.

When the Committee receives a revised response from the Government, we will publish this and share it with you.

ADHD Women Community Check-In May 12-18: How Are You Doing?
  • Got a verbal diagnosis last month but still waiting on the report so I can try medication. In the meantime, the doctor told me to cut down on caffeine so now I’m even more scatter brained than usual.

Great that we can try something eventually, but the suspense is frustrating!

Everything except drinking from it! The scratchy cap touching my face and the sugary drips falling on me detract from the whole experience.

Is Carbon Capture Cause for Hope? a new facility to suck carbon out of the air shows why it's more complicated than that.
  • The real question is how to make it profitable. Turn the captured carbon into building materials somehow?

As it stands, who pays for it? Can’t rely on government subsidies, and can’t rely on business doing it unless they’re compelled.

I wish it would work but I just don’t see how it fits in the current system at any meaningful scale.

Northern Lights could be visible in England and Wales as severe solar storm to hit overnight
  • Update: Worth it, thanks for the tips everyone!

Took a drive out to a little town near Newmarket (Ousden) that seemed to be recommended as a stargazing spot. Top of a hill, hardly a cloud in the sky, sliver of a moon, and not even too cold. What a perfect night!

Even on an iPhone 13 mini without a tripod or any skill in photography we managed to get a couple of amazing snaps.

Finished up with some motorway services doughnuts on the way home in the wee hours.

Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - would do it again.

Gender-specific toilets to be required in non-residential buildings in England
  • Spacious room with a single toilet and a floor to ceiling solid wood door: 🚨ILLEGAL🚨. But add a sink and anyone can poop to their heart’s content.

It seems the issue here is actually mixed gender handwashing, which is the real scourge.
