  • Damn shame Linux is so unfriendly to anti cheats.

What about Linux do you think is "unfriendly to anti cheats"?

  • average annual income means if you are poorer, you get punished more for stealing the same object. Not sure that’s a good idea

    I'm inclined to agree.

  • Is that an "agree" as in you hadn't considered what I said, or that you agree to that in addition? If it was the latter, I should clarify that I wasn't adding supplementary information — I was outlining what I thought was a flaw in your rationale (eg argument from ignorance) for distrust in Signal.

  • Instead of fishing for a debate […]

I will not engage in any debate without first knowing how the term is being defined.

  • Thank you for noticing 😊 — I have hope that it's a practice that will catch on eventually. I do my best to not engage in conjecture: If I make any claim, I try to make sure that I cite it. The same sort of thing goes for anything derived from logic — ie I do my best to describe my thought processes to make sure that I reduce the possibility of incorrect assumptions being made on anything that I post. It's a little bit tedious at times, but I think it's important.

  • Is that true? I just checked the reviews for all of the McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania on Google Maps [4] and none of them appear to have been review bombed recently or have any mention of the UHI shooter [1][2][3].

  • All I could find on this is something called "genetic sexual attraction" [1], though Wikipedia contains arguments that it's pseudoscience [1.1]. Here's a Reddit post asking about this. [3].

Related to this, I also came across the "Westermarck effect" [2] which appears to suggest that people who grow up together are less likely to be romantically attracted to each other [2.1].

  • Oh, I totally follow the logic of why each group would want a report, but I would still like to have an official source for the functionality besides anecdotes, if possible.

  • But I’d also view a singular commercial company’s no-cost product as not being a long term bet on privacy/anonymity.

Oh I completely agree with the idea that a federated service, like Matrix [1], is far preferable to a centralized one, eg Discord [2]; I have no issue with using Matrix (I personally use it extensively) I just think one should be careful with the idea of using it with the intent of being anonymous.

  • But, to me, that doesn't really explain why it would make sense to teach things that wouldn't be useful.

  • Who's the author?

  • While this is peripherally interesting to hear, without Linux support [1][2], I am not personally interested.

  • Because I believe in the idea of the Fediverse and I want it to succeed.

  • Noted! Thanks! For my own future reference, would you be able to cite official documentation for where that information is located?
