Racial tensions in Springfield have simmered for months. Trump’s rhetoric now has Haitians there in a full-blown ‘panic’
  • were swiftly debunked

This phrase always annoys me. Debunking means that you can prove something isn't true. I.e. proving a negative.

There is absolutely no evidence to say Trumps statements are true, but we can't say they were debunked.

OpenAI is reportedly going all-in as a for-profit company
  • I already have stable diffusion on a local machine. I was trying to find motivation to install a LLM locally. You answered my question in a different response

use cases where customization helps while quality does matter much due to scale, i.e spam, then LLMs and related tools are amazing.

  • Like I told the other person, stop being weird.

I don't think it's weird to consider that the US medical industry is possibly exploiting people through predatory business practices.

If you don't want to do it or think it's not worth your time, don't do it.

OK. And maybe look into the choices of who gets your goods.

Generative AI is reportedly tripling carbon dioxide emissions from data centers
  • You are not thinking cumulatively.

It's not even close to triple, it's like 15%.

    1.15^7=2.66

    From the article

"emit 2.5 billion tons by 2030, which is three times higher than the predictions if generative AI had not come into play."

  • $110 each week which is nice extra money for the time

Ah, maybe this is the scam.

Q1. What volume of blood is worth $110?

Q2. How much does the medical industry charge for the same type/quantity?
