That Which Doesn't Kill You...
  • Most amusing part was on first glance, somehow, I got: "For your safety, I have dwelt in the mountains..." I kind of wish I hadn't checked myself.

  • Oh no, think of all the be-smirched well-adjusted people! Otoh, succeeding in the entrepeneurial world generally takes a pretty high-degree of being "well-adjusted", regardless of mental-health issues stemming from abuse or otherwise.

There are also plenty of other things that can put a chip on one's shoulder or break a person besides childhood trauma.

AI hoax causes thousands to show up in Dublin, Ireland, for non-existent Halloween parade.
  • Pretty much anywhere. Be nice if the AI could have obtained them a permit, in some jurisdictions, but failing that concern, I think I would enjoy finding out I was "duped" alongside thousands of others who share an interest of mine like so.

Dentists are pulling ‘healthy’ and treatable teeth to profit from implants, experts warn
  • My wife had industry articles written about her mouth, and it was a battle just to get her mounts switched out for white ones and the metal removed for our wedding day, six years after she had braces put on.

Having seen photos of what her teeth looked like before braces, I would have still asked that girl out and eventually married her, although I see why she may have been even more self-conscious then than she was afterword(although I have my doubts anything was helped on that front too).

My own mouth is crowded with teeth I begged them to remove, now getting damaged by pressure from neighboring teeth and extremely difficult to clean between.

They don't seem to care what we actually need or don't need. Meanwhile, none of our kids have needed braces.

  • Bad fit for this community. He's right. The entrepeneur world is full of the wrong sorts of people to be starting businesses, unless your only criteria for "success" is getting bought-out early for a ridiculous amount, letting all the employees go, and telling existing customers to go fuck themselves.

Those with a legitimate problem to solve tend to have the will and motivation to see that it, or more likely whatever small portion they've figured out, stays solved, at least for a good while.

My kid just asked me "What does reality mean?"
  • Reality is what is still there when no one is talking about it or looking at it. You can make ideas real and/or change them, but you can't stop reality by doing nothing.

Why are we OK with thick folding phones, but not with thick no-folds?
  • The battery life of the phone, the potential longevity and repairability of the phone could be amazing. The last two are why they don't mabe them so much, and there's no demand when there's no product to meet that demand.

Me? I want a phone that floats, out of the box. Bonus points if it can survive a fall into a barge wing-tank, including hitting the ladder on its way down, but really, taking my phone off the boat is a habbit I never got into.

Tales from the Cryptic Lemmy - A writing space inspired by the gritty, wild days of pulpy horror and bizarre, crappy storytelling!
  • You called him a troll. By that definition, he likes your attention. The choices are feed the troll and live with, maybe learn to enjoy the resulting walls of text, or Block them.

Sorry to remind you, there is no in-between. Even if he had some sort of aneurism/epiphany and suddenly wanted to break character to do things more to your liking, he would do so under a new username, or be laughed back into the role everyone has come to expect. Been There Done That.

While we're at it, am I missing at instance-agnostic method for linking posts as well?
