He WHO is not guilty cast the first WHO-stone Rule
  • I always chalk up fictional universes as being translated to you as storytelling. The Whos probably don't even speak English anyway so everything is translated and what we call Christmas is a crude translation from whatever they call it. I seek solace in that they celebrate a pagan gift giving tradition with decorating similar to our Christmas but without the Christ.

Op-Ed: It’s Time for Governments to Regulate Fast Fashion | StyleZeitgeist
  • I've been trying my best buying responsibly sourced clothing with organic cotton and washing cold/delicate and air drying. Gotta say, the clothes are lasting a long time but they're so damn expensive that I feel like I have to treat them with such care.

It's hard to blame people for not wanting to spend $200 on a lifetime lasting shirt in this economy when they can get one for $10 and have it last maybe a year and just buy new clothes.

Perhaps as part of regulation, there's subsidies for responsibly/ethically sourced clothing.

What is your "inexpensive" hobby that turned out to be expensive/ you gradually invested lots of money into?
  • Ditto on that. Thought I was content with my first ergo but one thing after another led to an artisan keyboard with CNC backplates and plates, 2 year long group buys, and artisans to match the whole theme that costs the same as the keyboard. At this point I'm so far in the hole that my artisan keycap collection cost more than my keyboard collection.

It's just another one of those hobbies that has many moving parts so you can optimize and personalize each part.
