Canvassers of Elon Musk's super PAC say they were threatened and abused: report
  • I got threatened with an NDA once after a freelancing job went bad and I was like, “You mean the one you told me you’d send 4 months ago but never did? Hmm yeah just pay me the money you owe me and we don’t have to talk any more.”

I got the money, but fuck them.

Starbucks needs you to rein in highly customized drink orders—’We have some cleanup to do,’ CEO Brian Niccol says
  • My work is always doing Starbucks runs. I hate it because they won’t get me a fucking sandwich. “We only do coffees.” I drink my coffee black, which is usually on site. That shit’s not even coffee.

Trump sues CBS over Kamala Harris '60 Minutes' interview
  • So what’s the angle here?

Are they saying CBS omitted something? Or cut in a different response?

This could easily be solved by viewing the raw footage.

I dunno, sounds like more “lying media” bullshit to me

The MacBook Air gets a surprise upgrade to 16GB of RAM
  • Enh. I’m still using my 2018 Mac Mini with 8 gigs just fine.

I’ve been waiting til 16 became the base to upgrade. Maybe this is the year!

Black Ops 6 is massively outselling last year's Call of Duty even though it's on Game Pass, which probably tells you how Modern Warfare 3 went
  • Same. I played the first one and it was ok.

I dunno I find these games are always the same and there’s no point in playing every release.

Years ago I told myself I’d play every 3rd COD game because of this, but haven’t played one since the 360.

Been thinking this for over a decade
  • I mean you do have options. We have the labour board here in Canada.

You don’t tell your employer you’re talking to them. You let them contact the employer. They can’t fire you while an investigation is ongoing.

Been thinking this for over a decade
  • This is why you don’t ask.

Also, you don’t really need a whole day. I’m also Canadian. Employers are required to allow you time to do it, not an entire day.

I would phrase the question like this: “I need to take time to go vote. Would you prefer I take the morning or afternoon off?”

If they so no to both, you say “you know it’s illegal not to allow me time off to vote, right?”

I’ve changed careers since the last election, but as a driver I’d just say “I’m going to swing by the polling place in my way to or back from wherever” and it was never a problem.

Poilievre says it would be 'not fair' for Liberals to replace Trudeau as leader
  • I agree.

Thanks for the weed, Trudeau. You were an ok PM but it’s time to move on.

Maybe the next guy will fulfill your promise of election reform.

    Cargo shorts
  • I agree. Cargo pants are out though.

If it’s hot enough I need shorts, I don’t need a jacket either, but I still need pockets!

If it’s cold enough to need pants, I’m at least bringing a jacket anyway.

Is it cheaper to use a plug-in oil radiator to heat an individual room, or run the central heater to heat an individual room and living room?
  • Not really an answer to your question, but if you live somewhere that freezes think about where your pipes are.

You gotta heat the bathroom and kitchen and any other rooms that may have pipes running through them, or you’re going to freeze and probably burst some pipes.

Or, you could leave your taps trickling, but that expensive too.

  • bgr.com Marvel release dates: Every upcoming MCU movie and show

Here are the release dates for every upcoming Marvel movie and Disney+ series, from What If...? season 2 to Avengers: Secret Wars.

I didn’t realize Deadpool 3 is the only movie next year. Should be sweet!

Also I’m trying new shorthand for “community,” let’s see how it plays out.

I'm a school bus driver myself. I'll tell you the issue is that they're short drivers because they pay peanuts. The buses are coming that late because drivers are doing routes after their first routes. All the school bus companies somehow pay the exact same rates. There is no competition between them, but "they're trying everything."

Since there’s no official thread I’m going to write my thoughts in this post as I watch the episode.

The animated stuff has never really grabbed me. All this Ezra stuff is like, “oh ok yeah uh huh he’s super important I get it.”

“Can I count on you?” - foreshadowing?

I like this sith dude, but I feel like he’s going to turn to the light.

Rebellion insignia on Sabine’s mando armour 🤔

    Jedi bot nooooo!

Oh good they saved him. I like this droid. What’s his name?

Oh, it’s the 25 year old general again. I don’t mind her character, but she doesn’t seem grizzled enough to be a general.

How come her kid doesn’t have head tendrils?

Oh it’s Mr. Kim! I always like seeing him show up.

Ooooo baddies being bad. Trippy map stuff is fun.

    Uh oh showdown time.

Cool fight. She should have just stabbed spinny-lightsabre guy in the knuckles though. Guess we’ll never know who that guy was. Did we know Sabine had a light sabre or is this a new development?

Oh no they’re splitting up! Mr. Droid said not to do that!

Can’t they make a copy of this map? Why are they fighting over this one map? Any good data hoarder would have backed it up by now.

Oh shit they’re going to talk about Anakin now!

Yeah get bent pal, she doesn’t have to explain herself to you.

Yeah don’t start wars, bro. Or do, I guess that’s why I’m watching Star Wars

    Oh lightsaber time again already??

Yeah that’s all. I appreciate that we can see it on usernames now, but I’d like to see it for communities as well.

    Thanks Lemmy devs!
