The last photo - who else got to spend final moments with your beloved cat?
  • Thank you! I’m not generally a sharing kind of person, but am touched by the empathy of cat lovers. She went blind then catatonic very suddenly. We took her to the vet when we realized she wasn’t coming back. We had waited too long with her sister and she died in pain. It was traumatic for us and committed to not letting that happen again. We work from home, so she was with us at all times. The vet was very compassionate about the whole ordeal. They saw us early without waiting and made her and us as comfortable as possible. Whenever I get up from the couch to go to bed at night, I reflexively walk to her spot to say goodnight still. It’ll be a while but we intend to get some kittens to fill the void.

  • Our 17 year old kitty passed a few weeks ago too. She went peacefully but it’s still painful for us. You don’t care for something that long without it affecting you. We went to a cat cafe connected to the humane society last week and donated her food and treats and spent time with the kittens. It really helped.

Did anyone have Iomega Zip drives where they studied/worked/lived?
  • My first computer was an old used Mac IIvi that came with a 40mb hard drive. I was so stoked to over double my storage when I got my Zip drive. I still have a disk in a drawer that I can’t possibly get data from.

What movie or show you didn't know was THAT good until you watched it?
  • Dark on Netflix. I had started it once and gave up after 2 episodes, but came back years later and finished it. It’s now one of my all time favorite time travel stories. Lots of big, cascading mysteries kind of like Lost, but the ending was so satisfying!

Exemployees of a company, what was your "fuck this shit I'm out moment"?
  • I worked for UBreakiFix at the start of the pandemic and they were paying $12/hr. The owner did away with health insurance the year before and announced that we would have to pay the retail price of any broken parts taken from our paychecks. Glass breaks. It happens. Some of those screens are $300+. I wrote a letter to the owner explaining how devastating a sudden $300 drop on a $12/hr paycheck would be and said I won’t earn him one more penny, left my key and never came back.
