What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
  • From cake mix all the way to advil liquigels, then are almost always packaged by the same manufacturer. Why pay some other manufacturer to set up their production lines to make a generic version of something when the original company will do it for you and has their production line already set up to do everything except stamp their name on it.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
  • I don't need the passwords while I'm out and if it is really important it will will have to wait, if it is really really important then I will go home and get it, but in reality it is almost always never really that important.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
  • To your first point, I do this with the Costco gravy, add one salt and two pepper packets into the gravy makes it way better.

To your second point, many times the no name brand or store brand is actually packed by the same company with the same product but you aren't paying for the brand name marketing so it is cheaper.

'It just exploded': Springfield woman claims she never meant to spark false rumors about Haitians
  • This lady made up the dog eating rumour because she wanted to deflect attention from her blowing a dog too hard.

It's always deflect from what the conservatives are really doing.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
  • Use a pen and paper, no one breaks into your house for your password.

I don't even write the whole thing down, just enough that I know what the rest is, the missing part is context to me.

What is a low technology you really love ?
  • Axes, I have four and I will get another next year.

I have a hatchet for small tasks, a midsized axe for cutting small trees down and chopping, a Pulaski for landscaping/ digging tasks and I have a splitting axe/maul for splitting rounds.

There is something incredibly rewarding and fun about swinging an axe.

Israel Has Killed 1 Palestinian Child Every 2 Days in West Bank Since October
  • But don't worry, there's false equivalence because in one day Hamas killed a few hundred children so the tens of thousands now are totally justified and will be until none are left. /S

    Fuck the chicken tax
  • We have a 2011 and it is still going strong, the biggest cost recently was getting a spare set of keys and a key fob which was 400 bucks.

I had a 92 4Runner. It was still running perfectly other than the speedo not working. Who really needs to know how fast they're going with a 22re motor.

  • On a Budget?

The Toyota tax means a Ford and a Toyota of the same age and original cost are vastly different in resale value.

I need fresh corn tortilla advice
  • No but I was a baker for 3 years and worked in my school cafeteria kitchen throughout high school in a chef training program.

I will someday make tortillas though, I have to find a cast iron tortilla press so I can press and cook them at the same time by heating the press.

The worst place in the galaxy
  • The enemy of my enemy, is my enemy's enemy, nothing more nothing less.

Another enemy might serve as a temporary distraction but not much is going to stop Israel (the govt and country) from trying to continue what they started before the 1900s, the mass expulsion or eradication of the native population of a country they had no right to. They might have tried to slowly immigrate there over generations but that would not satisfy the Zionists that wanted to take minority ethnic control of a majority Muslim land.

  • A few years back my sister passed away, I'm now the only child my parents have left. They live a few hours away and have for as long as I have been with my partner (7 years).

My parents are planning on moving to the place we now live to be closer to me. This has my partner worried that they will be over often or I will be over at their house more often. Her parents are very far away so can only visit once a year.

My parents are not the kind of people to show up uninvited to anyone's house. They likely will come over once a month for dinner and I will probably go over by myself once a week.

We are both pretty private people so not having anyone over is just how we are and this potential change of more visits has her concerned that our privacy will be gone.

I am also fine with them not coming over often, I like it being just me and her but I do want my parents close when they have medical emergencies.

How do I approach this as currently she is a bit annoyed but taking a more "see how this pans out" attitude?

I don't exactly want to jump the gun and talk to my parents ahead of time to make sure they don't come over often because I don't think they will and it might sour their relationship to her if they think she doesn't want them over ever, even if I also don't want them over often.
