Like stoly said above, I think programmers are probably slightly above average intelligence overall, so don't sell yourself short there. But yeah. We're not geniuses
This is very fair. Math has always come fairly easily to me. So math intuition plays a part in my interest and ability to learn to program.
I think most people, even smart people, assume they couldn't do it though because I'm some kind of genius, which only a few programmers actually are.
That there's something inherently special about me that makes me able to program....
... Yes...patience and interest.
Absolutely. I bet it's just easier and cheaper for them to not bother securing their fob radio.
To be clear, I'm saying they should get their shit together as a company, because it's clearly not a hard thing to fix.
I work for a company of under 100 employees in a small city. Our head IT guy bought a Flipper Zero with his own money so he could make sure our building key fobs couldn't be easily copied.
If this guy can do it, I think the bajillion dollar auto industry can figure out a solution!
Honestly they just need an enemy to distract from real potential solutions because solutions are hard. They did the same thing with firearms.
What an asshat indeed.
This is a really important point. I've already seen this when talking with people. And it's also really hard to differentiate the "immigration is good in moderation" sentiment from the "immigrants are ruining the country" sentiment.
Because in the proper numbers, immigration keeps our country alive by filling in gaps and growing the economy. But if the numbers are too high, we have more competition for work and housing and all our other economic resources.
I think nowadays the narrative is seems to be "immigration is always good and if you say otherwise you're a bigot". But we should certainly make sure we are intentional about how many people we bring in because we want our country to be the best it can be for everyone in it and everyone entering it.
How dare you have a multi-varied and diverse opinion! Don't you know where you are?!

That's not overkill. That just seems logical to me
I simply don't understand people not taking ice seriously. Especially when half the lakes don't even have ice on them at all!
I'm not surprised. I got shingles as a healthy man in my 20s. I was told it was likely related to having COVID a few months before, because of how it harms your immune system.
If it happens to me more I may have to do the same
Does anyone know what the deal is with Readarr? They say they are having issues with their metadata provider so I can't search books. Does anyone know?
There are many solutions proposed by firearms rights activists to problems of violence and crime. If you're interested, check out gundebate.ca
I'm not sure what handgun data you're talking about, but it's common for Canadians to misunderstand the state of firearms in Canada. Since handguns are restricted firearms, they're registered. This means we know every time one of them turns up at a crime scene and the registered owner is charged. And this simply doesn't happen. These handguns are not being used in crimes. So banning legal sale of handguns will change nothing regarding crime.
I want to do something about violence in our country too. I just want us to do something that will actually work because those involved are actually educated on the issue.
I just wish that the general public and the government were educated on existing firearms laws and regulations in Canada. Assault weapons and high capacity magazines have been illegal here for a very long time. I don't like politicians trying to score points on issues that aren't actually issues, the public just isn't informed about them.
Yeah I totally understand the idea. And I hope it helps us have more housing. But it sucks to know that it might also make it easier for more slum lords to exist.
It's crazy that our government just removed taxes for new apartment buildings, making it even more profitable for these corporations. I know we need to do something about the housing crisis but this just doesn't seem right at all...
"Work it in" is very important! If you don't, it will splatter everywhere and collect a bunch of dust and turn to gunk!
This seems like a pretty reasonable take. This article does seem intentionally devisive. From the very beginning, its premise was that anyone supporting this bill is automatically pro-life, and uses that as justification to dismiss all conservative MPs. It jumps to huge conclusions based on very little.
I don't understand those disagreeing with you. If you heard a story about a woman who was assaulted, any reasonable person would be angry about that. Would you not be even more angry if you heard that she was pregnant with full intent to have the baby?
We all treat pregnant women as special. Because a wanted pregnancy is very special. Anyone assaulting someone who is pregnant should get the maximum punishment the law allows.
The most fascinating part of this to me is that roughly 88% of mixed breed dogs passed the test. So if you're just looking for a great dog, a mixed breed might actually have a better chance than a purebred!
Unless you're getting a lab. I've never met a lab that wasn't the bestest doggo ever lol
