US sets policy to seize patents of government-funded drugs if price deemed too high
  • Should be free. It’s ridiculous anyone should have to pay for it at all.

Go find a hedge fund and tax the fuck out of just that one and you’ll probably get enough money to offset costs for the entire year for all Americans.

Little bit of hyperbole in there but stand by my point.

  • An extremely well thought out and researched rebuttal. I have nothing further to say other than I appreciate you sharing your opinion. I still slightly disagree overall but I value the very strong points you bought to the table here. Very refreshing.

  • The issue is that there is not always a physical element to addiction. You can become addicted to anything that gives you a positive dopamine boost. It’s why porn and food can become addictive to people.

I get what you’re going for here but almost anything can be considered a “drug” if we are just using addictive and bad for you as the qualifiers. Even drinking too much water can kill you.

  • Thank you all who have supported my channel so far. I finally got 360 subscribers. Which to many is not a big feat. Considering all I’ve been through I’m lucky to be around to make videos at all. I got my first affiliate offer in my email today.

I’m sure thousands of these are sent out every day but this put a big smile on my face. I’m not going to accept their offer but I’m happy to have even been considered as all.

Come check me out if you haven’t already. I do mostly Linux, gaming and open source application show cases!

An AI Singer-Songwriter Just Debuted Her Original Song—And The Responses Are Just Brutal
  • There can be nothing new or original out of AI because all of its inputs are stolen from what already exists.

Ummm don’t humans learn exactly the same way? Pretty sure some random person wrote the textbook I read. Should I cite them every time I come go with a new idea based off of that knowledge?

Also, people steal shit all the time. I think everyone is looking for excuses to be upset.

You are all over this Fediverse telling people to subscribe to that service. Own what you are.

  • No you won’t shill. You’d spend your money on Spotify so you can pay them to “rip their tracks”. Like hitting the record button on the tape player while listening to the radio station makes you some kind of fucking hacker.

I see through your bullshit. Why are you trying so hard to convince people you are something you clearly aren’t?

Did Your Spotify Wrapped Place You In Burlington, Berkeley, or Cambridge? You May Be Gay
  • What did you expect? You completely sidestepped my biggest criticism and attacked the lesser issues.

My biggest problem is you’re justifying horrible behavior because it suits your needs. I don’t need to justify anything.

If I do something bad it’s intentional. Same with when I do something good. There isn’t a grey area for me. We’re obviously cut from different clothes there.

Why can’t you just admit you’re shilling for them? It’s what you’re doing. It’s what everyone does from time to time. Paid or not if you’re pushing a service you’re shilling for that company. However if you’re going to shill, shill something like Mullvad VPN or other reputable companies and services.

You’re part of the overall problem and you’re trying to justify abuse through convenience. That doesn’t make you a shill, it makes you an awful person too. You have a moral choice where you obtain your illegally gotten gains and I refuse to use Spotify in capacity. They won’t get my data or my traffic and I don’t need their shitty mp3 files. I can get my own even if there are so few seeders.

  • My favorite Q episodes were on voyager when he became mortal for the first time. I love how falling asleep scared him absolutely shitless.

The other was the Q civil war. I just like they used an American civil war setting to help them interpret the fighting.

  • OpenTTD is one of my favorite Linux Mint applications. Not only is it absolutely free to play but it’s pretty straightforward to get into. Let’s take a look together if you haven’t checked it out before!

I'd really like the perspective from someone who is new to using Linux. What kind of "how too" videos would really help you out in a pinch? Don't worry if it's mundane, I'm open to any suggestions.

It’s not a terrible walk, I’m just bad at hiking since I have to use a cane these days. I encourage everyone to check it out in person. The video doesn’t do it justice.

When I first installed Mint I wasn't really sure what to do. I knew gaming on Linux was good and steam has come a long way with proton but I still wanted to see what the software manager had to offer for games.

A couple of them looked like cute little time wasters but I saw OpenTTD and I recalled the Spiffing Britt did a video about that game once before. I decided to download it and I've been addicted to it ever since.

Every aspect of it is enjoyable, but I really found the trains to be the most fun part of the game. Something about setting it all up and just watching everything move along with purpose. It's just so satisfying to me.

Not sure if you've tried it, but it's worth a shot in my opinion. Make sure you download a graphics pack if you're not into the old school look.
